I?ve been shopping for a lightweight digital camera for a while and came down to 3, Sony DSC-P1 ($640 street), Fuji 4700 ($500 street), and the Canon Digital Elph. And Staples also has the Canon S100 soft case for only $8.99 (sku 380981)! Many online stores charge $20-30 (crazy!)

The only accessory I?m looking for now is the cool silver chain that Canon makes for this camera. I?ve seen it in kits, but not sold separately.

And you can find 64 meg compact flash memory on Pricewatch for like $68! I?m just not sure about brands like AVB. Anyone have any experience with it?

Why don't you directly order from compdirect. Staples charges tax, and there is hassle to pricematch. Staples is a pretty good store though.

im starting to miss my kodak..
lots of blurry pics with this cam....shutter speed must not be fast enough...im not to camera savy, is their a way to speed up shutter speed so I wont get so much blur?

I had an olympus 360 digicam but i won the canon s100 at CES. It is way better than the olympus imho, its sleek, very clear images ( i dunno about that blurry problem... ), and it transfers fast. the 8mb that came with it is lacking, so i got a 80. the things battery life is good, but anyone know where i could get a backup battery for long trips? anyways just wanted to say that even tho i think the camera is way too expensive, the 369 deal sounds like a steal. and i bought the soft case on egay for 20, damn who would have thought staples had em!

dealbabe, could it be that those blurry pictures were taken in a dark setting without flash? I found out from a guy on the OT board that the camera's shutters have to be opened for a little while longer when taking pictures of a dark setting since it has to take in as much light as possible, thus blurry pics.

Staples is suck. Twice I've been screwed by them for rebates, otherwise they are a fine store, coupons and free shipping is not suck.

pming at staples can be a pain. i tried this compdirect pm deal with the s100 and was told that overnight shipping cost would be added to the cost. in addition staples charges tax. if you were able to actually get it for $369 more power to you. i pmed at staples b&m for about $425 with tax incl. remember, these nyc photo shops are notorious for refurbs/out of warranty material. better to pay a bit more and get quality from staples. photoalley.com is running a 15% off sale with free shipping and no tax bringing the s100 to about $420. they also seem reputable. the benefit is no pm hassle.
