Poll: Closed Captioning?

My dad gets absolutely furious when he turns on the TV and closed captioning is on. My sisters and I prefer it because my parents complain about the TV being too loud sometimes, and if it's too soft we don't know whats going on. Also my hearing isn't the best and it helps me follow what's going on. So do u use ur closed captioning?

That's a good feature.

I use it if I'm at either of my parents homes and I want the sound level very low for some reason. Also watching the CC on live broadcasts is fun because they F it up sometimes, or they slowdown for a moment and have to catch back up.

I don't use it at home because both of my TVs are so old. It's not a priority in my life, so don't tell me to get a real TV. I'll buy the HDTV of all your dreams when it becomes affordable. Until then, I'm happy using the free hand me downs.

WHenver i need it to be quiet I either turn off the TV or just hold my hand on the volume down until the sound is gone... i'm weird like that.

my goes on when I mute the TV, but I only use the mute on my receiver. I always have my TV up specially when I am watching a DVD.....

I like to have it on, just so I can keep the volume down. Often, TV stations will lower the audio levels on the TV show, then blast it up with the commercials. So when I turn up the volume during the show just so I can hear the dialogue clearly, the commercials become awfully loud. Turning the volume down at that point only forces me to turn it back up once the commercials cease. It's very irritating.

Will also use it for DVDs on my laptop since the built-in speakers are unable to provide sufficient volume levels.
