Yeah tom's site came first and when he first started his site, he posted regularly and the reviews were actually very good! Now I can't make sense of the new design as well as the information he writes.

Yes and his site is still one of those that I check almost daily.

Personally I think he is extremely intelligent and his articles are usually quite comprehensive.

Regarding his bias, I don't think he is biased at all. he just has a rather large ego that tends to get offended rather often. He also has VERY strong opinions on what he likes and dislikes.
He will never stop reminding us that the Katmai was nothing more then a P2 w/SSE, that the K6-X series had poor FPU performance, that the 1.13GHz P3 was a disgrace. etc.

Despite all of the abve, he is intelligent, and thourough. He has dared to make a stand against things he disagrees with like no other hardware site has. He also was the pioneer of the hardware sites.

yes, I read Tom before Anand.

I'm not sure if this is specific to me, but using Linux and Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux 2.4.2-2 i686; en-US; 0.7) Gecko/20010316, I can barely read through Tom's site, let alone navigate it ...

I still use Toms, frequent as much as Anand. Both sites are good, so why bother choose one over the other.

I prefer forums for hardware news. I don't build bleeding edge, so the latest greatest news doesn't do much for me. I like seeing how the parts are working in the field, and take note of consistent problems that popup. If I look for info on a specific part, I just use Google, and read a few articles that look like they're from reliable sources.

Tom's may have cleaned up but, in 2009, the site was pure Intel fanbois wall to wall. Bad reviews, specious arguments and, lying with stats. I left and haven't gone back.

I don't get it...there are people here referring to the website as if Tom still has anything to do with it. Like, even specifying that it's "his" site, or "his" articles. Considering he has had little to nothing to do with the site in nearly a half-decade, it's just...

Anyway, I think I started at AGN3D when looking for ways to tweak my Voodoo (thanks FP...tho' I know you don't visit here anymore). AGN led me to Anand's when I was hunting Hoy (no longer proud of what I did) and the buy.com Hitachi debacle led me to FiringSquad to inform.

Didn't TH have a bias for ATi when everybody else knew the TNT was king? Or am I thinking of a different enthusiast site?

I use Tom's VGA charts, sometimes his forum threads via Google search, occasionally his CPU charts, and I think my forum account may still be active, but otherwise never really visit there anymore.

I rarely go there. Anandtech (well, the forums, I rarely go to the home page) is not person centric. Responses are from anyone who cares to chime in. There's usually a multifaceted perspective when there are a few responses, generally pithy and often spot on. I never did hang out at Tom's H, checked it out a bunch of times, but always sporadically and one of several search engine hits.
