Hmm don't see one German mobile that pulls a 10,000lb trailor, then goes up a 4x4 trail or hauls 700lbs of SOD to fix what your G/F's puppy has tore up that summer.... Have to stay with my big Iron Truck

<< << I drive russian car. >>

which one?

i heard rumours about bringing new Volga here, but they never did
>>

Gaz 69 from year 1958.
Old Gaz 21 "Volga"'s are pretty cool vehicles, IMO. Newer ones aren't very pretty.
I sometimes drive with grandpa's 28 years old VAZ 2101 (he lives in Findland now and let his car here), but that car is just so UNCOMFORTABLE.
Me and my friend also have Gaz 63, Gaz 66 and Zil 157 waiting for rebuilding (got those half-wrecks almost for free)...

<< Corrections are necessary.

1. Consumer Reports did not lose. The jury in LA denied Isuzus claim for damages and said CU did not libel them. The CU request for Isuzu to pay their legal expenses is still outstanding. Your "research" is wrong.

2. CR does not initiate propaganda. It is the most respected, unbiased magazine of its type in the world.
>>

You are only partially correct. I didn't feel like typing the whole thing out before, but I knew that Isuzu's request for monetary damages was denied. However, the courts DID side w/Isuzu when Isuzu requested the CR provide more proof. I.E. repeat the tests. CR withdrew the majority of it's negative comments pertaining to the propensity of the Trooper to roll over MORE than any other SUVs.

Anyway, like Laust said:

<< People who roll SUV's or any vehicle for that matter are derelict's either way, I think I had read the Montero was the easiest roller at 27mph on a sharp turn, Jeezus who is going to go down broadway and miss the mall and have to turn around that fast, take it easy. >>

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Unless you want high-end torque and more overtaking ability.

Ex car - VW Polo 1.4
This car had great low-down torque, and you didnt need to use much throttle round town, yet, if you pushed it, then you wouldnt get much more out of it above 4500 revs.

New car - Honda Civic 1.4
This car lacks in low-down torque, and you have to use more fuel to get the same acceleration round town than the Polo, but Max torque is 4600 rpm, and Max power at 6300 rpm. This car flies if you leave it in gear. Much more fun than the Polo too.

The Polo was a year younger than the Civic, 1998 Polo as opposed to 1997 Civic.

<< I blame the American consumer and greenies though >>

Think about consumers who live where it snows, most of them are afraid to negotiate a RWD car in slippery weather. I've driven RWD in the snow with no problem, but there's a lot of people out there who don't feel so safe doing so. FWD is much more care free for most people, not just the American consumer...

other than a corvette (which is out of my league right now since im in college), there is not a single american-brand car i would want. no other american car in its price range can compete with a honda accord. so thats why im content with my accord.

Why? I dont need a bigger engine to pull me around, perhaps you do?

- It gets me where I need to go.
- It is a real car, with a real engine, or have i been sleeping for a year since I learned to drive?
- I dont want a bigger car. - Lighter cars get better fuel economy.
- Why should I spend more on a car with a bigger engine, and then more per week on fuel, just to get some respect from you? I have better things to do.

TBH youre not even funny. Try living in the real world where emissions actually mean something.

I have an american car.. a pontiac firebird.

and while my next car will be american as well (98 Camaro SS 330+hp), I gotta say that my american car has given me more headaches than the one jap-crapper I owned. I've had the a/c system go out, water pump replaced, clutch replaced, power steering pump replaced, radiator flushed and worked on, etc. but its way fun to drive and worth it I think since the warranty paid for most everything.

even if accords are overpriced, the american cars under the price range of the accord could compete.

ford focus? haha yeah right
ford taurus? LOL
ford contour? a bigger POS
pontiac? haha

and if they were overpriced, why are they one of the top selling cars in america and not one of the american ones which can be had for much less money

Naw, here in the US we have wide open spaces and need passing power. The VWs sold here don't have engines smaller than the 2.0, and that's the low end. Next is the 1.8T the VR6 and the 2.8 v6

I have the 2.8

Lighten up, I was just screwin' with ya.
