LOL hell yeah! Take a trip to your closest dragway that's open to the public. You have at least a hundred amateurs drag racing without an incident. I can't remember the last time they opened up a dirt track to the public to let them tear around on it. Wonder why? >>

Ronin - pretty cool! Though how common are these? I know I haven't heard of anything like that here in the US, not to say they don't exist. But you can head to many dragways and take your car out for the 1/4, it's just more common and there's a reason for that. But still, the idea of an open rally track is cool!

The VIN on my Toyota starts with a 5 and there's no listing for a 5 on that VIN decoder linked to in this thread. Anyone know what the 5 means?

All previous cars were American:

'83 Camaro Z-28 (loved this car, but it started falling apart at about 100,000 miles)

'80 or '81 Monte Carlo (it was pretty with t-tops, but didn't care for the ride)

'76 Camaro (nice car, don't know why I traded it for the Monte Carlo)

'71 Maverick Grabber (bought it from a former b/f who drove it drag races. It had Crager wheels, huge tires on the back, traction bars, a Thrush "muffler", Hurst shifter, big ole tach on the dash, chrome hood locks. It was a guy magnet!

Rally is a real sport.. why the hell do you think you never see "drag racing" in Europe and Asia and all other places? because it sucks!

Nascar is crap! drag racing is crap! anything involving a big-ass american car with slicks and a "blower" is CRAP! AAAAGGGGHHH this is driving me insane!

RALLY IS 999 MILLION TIMES BETTER THAN ANY AMERICAN MOTORSPORT!

that is probably why some people knock american cars.. because half the stuff they are designed to do is lame and funny... They make some great cars, but the motorsports in the US are mental.. sooo dumb! the worst I can think of is sprit cars.. LOL!

If someone asked you to race on the street would you? I for one would not, especially since the cops are cracking down on street races after what happened a few days ago.
two kids where racing, one of them (in an SUV) lost control, flipped over, and killed a pedestrian. Its quite said really that kids can be this stupid!

Do you see stock sport compact cars drag racing on a street when the street light turns green?
no.

It's a dumb sport that does not deserve to be televised, it's entirely different than street racing.. What is a better sport to watch.. Drag or Rally. you'd have to be a complete reject to answer Drag racing is better..

I don't race as much as i used to.. there are TONS of cops in my city and I am too scared to race anymore! sometimes depending on time and place I will, for sure.. but overall, if someone asked me at the light, I would decline. I didn't used to be like that, but times have evidently changed..
