With as many street lights as there are today maybe you still need the hint, headlights are not really used to see, they are used to be seen.

Thats why when you get out on a counrty road without street lights you use your brights and also why no matter what time it is HID headlights are LAME

I don't think that cars are seen easier in daylight with their lights on. If it's gray or overcast or raining I'll put them on, but otherwise I don't think it helps. Thank you for dispensing such gracious wisdom though.

I used to, but then this Camry only sped a little in front of me, and I almost had to slow down, so now I flash my brights every five seconds or so just to let people know that I'm a big bad eThug and they should all move and let me keep doing 25 over.

My car has Daytime Running Lamps. Different than Headlights so I answered No. My car also has a light sensor so when it gets too dark outside, the real headlights turn on automatically.

I love that.

as soon as I start the car, the headlights go on. it saves me from having to think about whether I need them or not.

Yes I do. It's a good habit to get into and the cost is minimal.

120W of electrical load has negligible effect on mileage and bulbs last a few years anyways and they're about $15 a pair.

I see more people driving at night w/ just their parking lights on more than I like to see.

You don't need to worry about reduced bulb life unless you have one of those stupid super white lamps with horribly short life that cost $50 a pair.

It doesn't really matter what you think, it's a proven fact.
Fine if you don't want to keep your lights on all the time, but don't go around thinking you're smarter than the people who are smart enough to keep them on.
