Well, I do not go one day(If I do, here must be something wrong with me..) without eating some kind of meat. I eat burgers, tacos, burritos, chicken, fish, turkey, steak(home made pepper steak is for dinner today), EVERYTHING! I go to the meat section of my grocery store and say "OK."

I also buy 1/4-1/2 of a cow once a year or so from a butcher in WI.

I havnt eaten meat in about two weeks now. No, I didnt develope a sudden rush of feeling bad for animals, no its not for my health. I just wokeup one day and didnt want to eat meat. In fact I tried to eat meat and it made me feel yucky. I think if people wanna eat meat they should. I have no 'propoganda' about my recent not eating meat. I just dont have the desire to.. Which is REALLY strange because I used to eat redmeat everday, usually several times a day.

I used to eat RARE and Medium Rare steaks and such. I always hated chicken though. Anyhow I think im going crazy, I dont like meat at all anymore. I must be sick.

BTW: I have always hated dairy products for the most part. The idea disguests me. What other animal on earth drinks the milk of another animal? Thats just gross. I admit to eating cheese before, and even liking it on some things, but the IDEA of dairy repulses me so much I try not to eat any dairy. Yes, some cheese tastes good, but UGH, how its made! GROSS... So basically I dont eat dairy.

Currently I could eat some fish or certain shrimps (depends how its cooked).. but thats it. I have no desire anymore to eat meat, and havnt done so for almost two weeks.

Weird.

it is very natural to not eat meat. ive been a vegetarian for 8 years with no ill effects. if i eat something that had meat in it and i didnt know about, i sure find out when im puking it up. i dont want to really sound preachy, because im not, but it has been proven that humans arent meant to eat as much meat as we do. the size of our intestines, our teeth, the enzymes in our stomach acids etc...it all doesnt add up to a major carnivor. i will never deny that early humans were meant to forage and such and eat whatever they came across, but i will say that now that we have the intelligence to know the difference and health hazards of alot of this stuff that we really should go towards veganism. its not just a a high hope, but actually a good idea health wise. people get sick due to meats, cancers, young girls "develope" a lot wuicker than normal with a heavy dairy and meat diet. not to mention the fact that much of the world is being destroyed for the grazing of cows and such. madagascar i being ruined just so they have space for cows and sheep to graze. one of the last unique islands is vanishing because people want meat. i never saw that much destruction with a crop of plants. sorry...im preaching...i apologize. ill stop before i get out of hand!

I think you should only cut back on meat for your health if you care about it, or you want to 'feel better'. I used to think how anyone would feel better not eating meat, but eating less HEAVY food like red meat and such makes you feel much better. I wakeup with more energy and generally look better as well, and thats only two weeks of not eating meat.

I dont care about killing animals, or what they do to the planet, thats not my agenda. Animals eat animals, its plain and simple, humans are an animal. Humans are an omnivore (I think thats the word). We evolved because we ate meat, and before there was suppliments for the neutrients meat has, we had to eat meat. I think now days though, humans eat more meat then they originally did. I used to eat redmeat everday, do you think evolving humans ate red meat everday? I doubt that. Like i said though, you should only cut back -IF- you care about your health.. If you dont, then why bother? I dont have any second thoughts about chewing up a piece of big flesh, cooked at RARE. I think people who eat things well done might as well be vegatarians though. I mean you destroy the taste that the meat had to begin with when you do that. If I eat steak I eat medium rare or rare.

Funny thing is I didnt cut meat for health reasons, I did it because two weeks ago I woke up and didnt like meat. Which still baffles me. I blame it on aliens

Just make sure to go to a registered dietitian or something because getting all the nutrients you need from a vegan diet is pretty damned hard i think theres a nutrient u can go without for years because your body has a storage of it, but after a while, ur gonna be deficient liberal vegetarianism is the way to go if your gonna bother. pure vegans have to eat a ton.

n/m i found one, u gotta eat animal products to get vitamin b-12, have 4 years of storage b4 u run out. b-12 deficiency early sign is mental dysfunction, so bad vegans are probably a little nutty after a while Prolonged deficiency = irreversible nerve damage. calcium for vegans are a pain too, gotta take supplements or fortified food, not so natural. ussually ppl flunk out of veganism b4 anything bad happens

The only type of food I find that is just 'wrong' to eat is Dairy.

UGH, I cannot express my dislike for how its produces.. Talk about GROSS. What other aniamsl on earth drink the milk of another animal? Thats just plane CRAZY. What fool was sitting around looking at a cow thinking he should get down there and drink some? Thats just gross. Milk of cows was meant for baby cows! Even adult cows do not drink the milk!

Gross gross gross. I mean I like cheese, but I do what I can to avoid it. That was before I stoped eating meat even, and I have never liked milk. Sick.

Zuccini: We don't even need that much calcium. It's the overabundance of protein in the meat diet that causes the calcium leeching. And we get plenty of calcium from greeny plants. Animals don't drink milk and they're fine

Dairy is nasty, but I can't give it all up.

eh not really, while its true that dark green leafy vegs do contain calcium, it is in a form that is hard to absorb. as for protien leeching calcium.. eh never heard of that Talk to a real registered dietitian..really interesting. make sure they have legit up to date credentials, many many quacks out there.
