AT&T Cable (now Comcast) royally pissed me off over billing errors after two years of service with them in Atlanta. I moved over to DISH Network then over to DirecTV with Tivo and have been extremely happy.

Something special would have to happen in order for me to move back to cable.

Our association provides CableTV as part of our quarterly dues. It's cheaper that way but I get it whether I want it or not, so, DirecTV/DISH has no value to me. That said they do have some nice add-ons, but, I'd have to pay for a lot of what I'm already getting to take advantage so it's not worth it.

Not to mention DirecTV's lawsuit shenanigans are over the top and I wouldn't want to support them.

Both, kinda. I have very basic cable to get my locals that haven't gone digital yet. I have an antenna to get my local digital channels, and I have DirecTV for the rest.

We recently moved from a nice big house (we occupied the furnished basement) to a 4plex which has "tigher than Ross's a$$hole" lease rules, and of course being an idiot we (actually I) signed a 12 month lease. In order to get DirecTV at our 4plex we need to sign some form and fork over a $150 deposit. Plus they're not allowed to anchor it anywhere to the house or even back patio. So they have to mount it on a post and tie it against the back patio. I figured since DSL is not available at our address, we might as well get cable internet + cable TV pay one bill.

Rental lease agreements suck!

I hate Comcast. I pay $45 a month for less that sixty channels. For the same price with Direct I would get 130, and for $5 more I could have Tivo.

Dude you have not lived until you have used DirecTIVO, it rocks.

If you get DirecTV soon, let me know I have a Hughes DVR2 DirecTIVO (40 hour) with CC 3 yr warranty that we no longer have a use for.

thanks...but I am stuck in my lease til August/Sept. I am going to move to a place that I can get Direct. As for your offer....well I sell Direct, so I get a pretty good deal on the equipment (free)

I'm getting the Total Choice + local channels, first 6 months at $29.99 a month... even at the regular price it's still cheaper than my current analog cable, and I get more channels. Plus, I got a smokin' deal at BestBuy this weekend, 3 rooms with triple-LNB dish, plus a DirecTivo, and a $75 BestBuy gift card.... total cost to me: $25. W00t!
