A form of communication? If I wanted someone to contact me, they'd have my number. If you haven't seen me in awhile, it's for a reason. Facebook is the stupidest shit I've ever seen. Just a bunch of people that think their life is so important they have to post it for everyone to see. It's all about, "check out what I did on vacation or look at my kids." Just a little FYI, you're not that important and no one gives a shit.
I remember when blogging was first introduced. I said to myself, that is the stupidest shit I've ever seen. Do people think their life is so interesting they need to let everyone know what they are doing? Apparently so.
No. Never. I am not a 15 year old girl.
Apparently my life is interesting enough that other people are interested in what I post, otherwise they wouldn't like or comment. Sorry if you can't say the same. I know in your eyes that thought process probably makes me a sheep who doesn't realize that they're just subconsciously doing it to subconsciously manipulate me into commenting on their profile or some other such adolescent theory, frankly I don't care. Believe it or not, people can actually be legitimately interested in each others' lives. Hell my family reunions are usually over 100 people, most of whom are distant relatives or close friends of the family I've barely met. But we're still interested in what each other is up to and make conversation. Facebook is simply an online version of that, mostly for the modern generations.
You could say the same with any kind of reunion.
If such connections are beyond your comprehension, you have my pity.
Facebook is nothing more than a form of communication. If the only people you know use it for attention whoring, find new friends.
i think if you're 25 and younger, you probably do have one unless you're antisocial.
when my friends were looking for roommates in college, if you didn't have a facebook, it was like "ok, then you probably are a social outcast." i'm not saying you need to use it to publicize to the world, but if you're in college now and afraid to even have an account, then perhaps you're one of those WoW nerds or something who have no friends. shrug.
QFT, don't know why people who have never had one have any opinion on it to begin with.
Lack of facebook = greatly reduced chances of womenz
22 here and I have one. I can confirm what you are saying. People without facebook, who are in college, are viewed as isolated weirdos. Lack of facebook = greatly reduced chances of womenz.
That being said I'm not a fan of facebook. I kind of wish our world wasn't so.... facebooky
Well said. What I find funny is how many people think it's cool to hate it simply because it's popular. It's a great way to communicate with other people, but apparently here being a sociopath sure is "cool", isn't it?

I thought it was retarded when "blogging" started, and continued to think it was retarded when it was MySpace and then Facebook. So no, being popular has nothing to do with it.
And it is not a matter of being a "sociopath." It's a matter of focusing on your own life rather than others. If you have that much time to manage or keep track of others' lives, you are not spending enough time managing your own. How people have time for all these "friends," I have no idea. I have a couple of REAL friends and that is pretty much all I have time for. And even with those friends, if they have some news or need me, they call or email me. I don't have time or interest to keep track of their every move.
