Is it just me or do you prefer to order food online vs. calling a business that offers delivery?

If every restaurant were as efficient as Newegg, I'd prefer online order, and then pick up.

I've ordered Groceries Online, but still Call for Pizza/Chinese/etc. I Call mostly out of habit and not preference, although I've been meaning to try it. Only certain places have Online Ordering though and my favourites happen to mostly be Family Owned and not Chains. I occasionally order from Panago(Canadian Pizza chain), Papa Johns, and rarely from Dominoes or Pizza Hut, all of which have Online Ordering, just haven't tried them.

my local family-owned chinese place has a website.

it's pretty awesome. haven't gotten in incorrect order ever and they give you a discount for ordering online versus calling. probably lets them work with fewer people.

I prefer to order food for delivery via a website because it gives the least chance of a mistake since the person on a phone call can misinterpret what I say.

A website, since there is no "Can you hold, please?", no misunderstandings of exactly what you ordered, and no talking to someone that barely understands English.

I prefer to call. Online ordering can get fucked up with the orders not going through and stuff. But once you call, just make them repeat the order back to you to make sure they have it right, and you have peace of mind.

I've never ordered takeout on the phone or online. I prefer going to and eating at the joint.
