Currently running 1LCD + 1CRT. LCD's on digital. I really want to change to 2xLCDs, but I want both to be digital, and my R9700Pro can't do that So either I wait, or I run the other LCD in Analog in the meantime. Or just stick with my current setup and wait till LCD prices drop more and get it when a good (read: reasonably priced and powerful) Dual DVI vid card comes out. Not going to downgrade from my R9700Pro to a GF4 Ti4200, Ti4600, OR MATROX. Really pleased with the output (digital and analog) of my R9700, so no rush

2 X CRT Monitors.
In a dream world I'd have 2X CRT's and 1X LCD's.
LCD for typical 2D work, and gaming if it could handle it reasonably well.
2X CRT's for 2D graphics design as LCD's invariably flat out stink for any degree of true high end 2D design tasks.

Hmm.. perhaps you can clear up some confusion I have. I thought LCD's were good for 2D? Is that only true in regards to geometry? I know color is still not on par with CRTs but were you talking about applications such as CAD?

Im running dual crt, i hope to get a lcd to replace the 15 inch old and dull crt im using for second monitor. I keep having people comment that i have such a nice looking setup except the second monitor which is dull and fuzzy.

2 x CRT

LCDs are nice, but color sucks on em.
I can't afford 2 LCDs either... I'm too spoiled to have anything less than 2 x 19"

Dual CRTs, one 19" Viewsonic P95F+B and one 17" Dell 1028L at the moment. On Thursday though, my order of two Dell 1800FPs should be here and I can finally get rid of my POS Viewsonic P95F+B.

lcd geometry = good
lcd eye strain = good
lcd contrast = sh*ts
lcd colors = sh*ts

best of both worlds is to get one of each kind still.

Simple, colour reproduction, colour temperature and contrast is terrible on even the best of LCD's.
Most LCD's can't even display beyond a 6/6/6 RGB, whereas CRT's are perfectly well suited to 8/8/8 or even beyond that if you have an appropriate graphics card.
Colour calibration is still about 2-3X less accurate on LCD's even within the range they can display. Colour uniformity is also superior on a CRT monitor.

Beatiful when you don't need perfect colour accuracy and reproduction, but if you do LCD's are from from ideal.

I'm primarily aimed towards applications in the style Corel/PhotoShop which tend to be ill-suited to LCD's.
I wasnt so much referencing CAD, as that can encompass a very broad range of work.

Yes, 2 CRTs.

CTX 19" as primary (1280x1024 - yes, i know it's 5:4, but it looks better on there for me than 1280x960), and a free (w00t!) 17" as secondary monitor (1152x864)

Both being powered by MSI GeForce 4 Ti4200 128mb

Dual 21" Viewsonic CRTs on the left and right, single 19" Samsung LCD in the middle. CRTs running off one box, LCD off a second. The dual CRTs are on a Matrox G400 AGP and a Radeon 7500 PCI, and the LCD is on a Radeon 8500.

17" NEC CRT and a 15" Dell LCD (eP1551 or some crap like that). Picked up the LCD dirst cheap becuz it has a little dark spot 1" above the baseline - looks like someone poked the monitor. Its not very large (maybe 1/4" in diameter) but it doesnt look pretty either. However, its great having a second monitor for doing homework research and stuff when u really need to work with multiple windows.
