One can hope, but I thought that would happen in 2016 and Hillary would win easily. It also depends on the Dems finding a decent candidate that can promote some areas of middle ground instead of pushing only the liberal democratic agendas.

I didn't like Hillary all that much, but I voted for her because I considered Trump as the far greater evil.

Over the time that Trump's been in office, it's been glaringly obvious that the more threatened Trump becomes, the more his base rallies around him. They really don't care about anything as trivial as Trump snuggling up to Putin, or Mueller indicting and convicting Trump's close associates or Trump's incessant lying.

And heaven forbid that Mueller's report fingers Trump as being complicit with "the fake Russia thing". Methinks many of Trump's supporters will do some stupid shit to make a point that Trump was victimized by the deep state. Of course, Trump has already planted these seeds for his supporters to nurture and blossom when the time is right. I can see Trump calling for violence to make things go his way.

Things will get a whole lot uglier before it gets any better, unless of course Trump willingly resigns with chin up and blabbering lips doing it's thing. But that's not like Trump. His pride, his self-image, his ego won't let him, nor will his supporters let him even think about it.

It must be remembered that Trump and his supporters consider themselves the perpetual victims that had a taste of victory and they will not relinquish willingly what they are so proud to have "won" no matter how they "won" it.

I noticed that the Republicans are upset but will not confront Trump. No spine. They are worried because Trump will call them out. Deep down they hate the guy, but again. They are afraid to be called out. So they'll say that they're upset but not directly. In a few weeks this will be forgotten.

His base will rally around Trumo because they don't have any other choice. Many are ignorant. I don't expect that to change.

Think of all the things pence can do and then think about what it would take to undo them. Now imagine none of the above matters because we now have a fascist government as opposed to a democracy.

Your thinking is the exact same thinking as those that didn't vote for Hillary because both choices were terrible. Trump is the worst of the worst, therefore anybody would be better.

Sounds a little Christianphobic. I understand, especially if one is an atheist. However, I must ask, other than your view of his Christian beliefs, what would make him dangerous? I don't recall him having any sort of scandalous life, and from what I know he's been a good family man. I think he's generally more honest than Trump, but he's still a politician...so there's that. We will never have perfection that pleases everyone. That's a utopia we'll never find.

Well, truth be known, I think most people vote to keep one, or the other from becoming president. It's not always an act of affection. In my case, it certainly wasn't. I didn't like either one of them very much, nor their character,or integrity. My vote was cast for the one who had some policies I agreed with and I wanted to try the "businessman" approach to running the country. My son jokes that he voted for Trump, just to see the world burn. lol
