not a bad deal, 6% yield $50 free after having $500 in for 3 months, free checks, ATM surcharge rebates $6/month if you have the money to do this it is a great return. If you could do this every three months you would have nearly a 50% return on the year

return is not impossible, if you could get $50 every 3 months that would be $200 for a year then add in the 6% yield which is $30 for the year on $500, totals $230 dollars which is over 40%

If you read the fine print, you have to keep your balance above $1500 or you'll have to pay a $5 monthly fee. This is a pretty good deal, but there's better deals out there for banking. here's the fine print:

sorry didn't see the $5 thing, i didn't mean to do this every three months either i was just pointing out the return, basically you could get $35 after paying the $5 fee each month, thanks for the update, didn't mean to get somebody cheated

I've got an account at this bank and I am completely satisfied. Their site isn't fancy or even nice looking for that matter, but they serve their purpose well and 6% is very competetive.

I too have had my account at everbank.com for the past year and have been very satisfied.

There are not better deals out there, as everbank has the highest interest rate on checking of any place. Not even counting the 6% introductory rate. I think mine a year later is around 5.27% or something for normal checking...

I guess the only drawback is the minumum $1500 balance. Other than that, they beat everyone. Their checking interest rate is much higher than most places savings interest rates.

I decided to print my own checks on my laser printer instead of ordering the checks from them though.

I should also add, a lot of these online banks like to lure you in with a high interest rate, only to drastically reduce it later. So far Everbank has kept a high ineterest rate even long past their introductory 6%. I think it even states in their fine print somewhere that they will strive to be in the top 10% of all banks for the highest interest rate all the time.

I use American Bank e-Checking myself. Great place, had a promo 6.25 rate for about a year, just changed it to 6.05 percent. ATM rebates, 15 check limit, and only a $100 minimum balance. Sensor, that is a good rate for that pcbanker.coom bank. I don't think I have checked them out. Although I'll probably stay with everbank unless my balance gets below $1500.
