What brand of fan do you use and why? Im wondering what most people use and if i forget some of the better brands, just post some below. Im still hooked on buying a YS Tech TMD and YS Tech Adjustables without success in finding them.

Hopefully, you can persuade me to find something i can use instead of these fans as long as one is adjustable, so i can vary my intake/exhaust.

I voted Panaflo because I tend to use them a lot in my rigs. I try and keep my fans as quiet as possible and Panaflos have pretty darn good performance-to-noise-to-price ratios. I'm not married to Panaflos though. I use certian fans in certian places for specific applications. I use ADDAs, Sunons and NMBs also, depending on what I'm doing. A lot of the rigs I build for other people end up having the stock case fans left on them but they will have been 7-volted to keep them quieter.

Im after 2 quiet and effective 80mm fans that i can control without having to buy a separate controller ie. Rheobus-kind of setup and I also need a great 70mm fan, control isnt needed there as i have my V7+ Fan Controller.

The only options offered to me from my other posts have been the YS Tech ones... Im just after some other options as the YS Tech stuff is very costly to ship to the UK

Im thinking of Thermaltake Smart Fan II's to replace my current Smartfan I's.

Just hope that Speed Controller has a long wire - its going to have to make it to my 5 1/4" bay

This poll ain't very accurate in the fact that we may use multiple brands in our comps.

It isnt meant to be 100% accurate, its meant to find out what brand of fan is used or liked a lot.

I have 16 votes but not that many posts. I didnt expect everyone who voted to post or everyone to vote once for every type of fan they use. All i hoped for was a general idea to what fan brands were liked and I love to see posts like RalfHutter's. It showed what he/she voted for, why he/she voted for that brand and a few brands that he/she uses in addition to the main choice.

That's the problem, you can only vote once. I voted for panaflos though, I'm willing to sacrifice a few degrees for the ability to sleep peacefully at night with my comp on. Plus, if you aren't ocing, panaflos or stock fans 7 volted will provide more than enough case cooling.

Panaflo. I use them in all my rigs because they are quiet and can usually get a pretty good deal on them.

I use all Sunons for my case but I have a Vantec Tornado (re-labeled Sunon) on the Thermalright AX-478 CPU heatsink. The Tornado kicks out 84 cfm and is loud at full speed. But, I have it connected to the thermal control connectors off my Antec 550w P/S. When the case temp changes, the fan's rpms change noticably. It works quiet well. Low noise and it still keeps my CPU nice and cool.

I used to have mostly Pabst fans in my rig (120mm intake, 2x 80mm exhaust and 80mm on hsf) but changed the two exhaust for Antex blue led fans because it looks cool with my blue leds in front and blue cc, the Papst performed as good and was a bit more silent.
For noise/performance Pabst are superb. Plan to make a blowhole in the side of my case with another 120mm Pabst (unless someone comes out with 120mm led-fans soon )

I wasnt sure if you meant the Fan for the HS or something other so I voted for Thermaltake which I have on my HS. I use Sunon fans as case fans.

Can't really vote on this; I use Evercool, NMB, Delta, Panaflo, Y.S. Tech, Top Motor/Dynatron, and probably a few others. I just look for ball bearing, though Panaflo is an exception - their hydrowave bearing (no idea what that means exactly) is pretty good too. I've had way too many sleeve bearing fans (brand never mattered) die early on me.
Among those fans, I really have no preference. Evercool and Top Motor/Dynatron are there because they are cheap - Bestbyte.net has the Top Motor fans for $3 each; good price, and good performance. The NMB fans I use were from a box of 80 I got cheap; they work good - low flow models, but very low noise. The Delta and Panaflos I have are 120mm fans; they are comparable in terms of noise and airflow, but this will of course vary by model.

using three Vantec Stealths for case fans and on Panflow High on Thermalright AX-7 HS.

All controlled by a self-made fan bus

I've used Panaflo L1A's for my last 2 computers. They're quiet and cheap. I'm always amazed at how much money some dealers sell fans for. I get my Panaflos for about $3 each. I used SpeedFan software to control the speed of the fans, so I don't have to paid extra for fans w/ speed control on them.

Panaflo, love the performance/noise ratio. I've gone through at least 50 80mm panaflos, sure wish someone would have a good sale on them again.

Panaflo's would definately come in second for my tastes. It just that the Vantec's have rpm sensing and move more air (27cfm's for the Stealth model) at the same noise level of the Panaflo.

The only downside of them... $6/fan
Panaflo's are about $1.99 if I remember correctly.

I would pick panaflo, Papst, Delta from the list.

Other name mentioned dont' make their own fan and buy fans from other manufactures.

The Stealth's are $6.00 from Royalcomputer (or something like that).
As for the Panaflo's... well that was the price last time I bought them. But ever since finding the Stealths that move more CFM's at the same noise level of the L1A's, I quit buying Panaflo's. After all $4.00 is pocket change.
