i'm a big Matt Kenseth fan.... been watching him since the early days of his Bush Runs... plus when he was driving the #17 Lycos car, i was working for Lycos and hosted quite a few online chats with him... even got to speak to him over the phone once
Since all my favorite good drivers died Alan Kulwicky(spelling) and Davey Allison I now root for Jimmy Spencer. Now that dodge is back in it hopefully it will get a bit more interesting. I don't expect them to do that great at daytona there first time out though.
Both Earnhardts, I think Jr. has a lot of potential. Favorite name was Dick Trickle, what were his parents thinking? The really funny part was when Big Johnson was Trickle's sponsor for a while.
Bill Elliott
Don't know why I pick one hero in each sport and stick with them - do or die. Yep (that's southern for yes, BTW) I have Ray Etherham can pull some magic out of his bag of tricks somewhere.
BTW I think Earnheart Sr. is the most capable driver. He can "SEE" or FEEL" the air coming off the other cars and take advantage of it.
Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt, Ricky Rudd, Rusty, Bobby, 'Lil E, Matt Kenseth, aw gee, beginning to like what I see from Jerry Nadeau. Do I really have to pick just ONE favorite??
My dad use to tell me that Dick Trickle use to have a cigarette lighter in his car and would fire one up on yellow flags . Don't know if it was true but I always thought that was funny.
I have a lot of favorites but Rusty Wallaceis number one in my book. Thanks to mom, I have been a fan since the early 80's.
To all of you Earnhardt fans, I loved watching Rusty's teammate, Jeremy Mayfield, give Earnhardt a taste of his own medicine at Pocono ...and then watch Dale WHINE his @$$ off about it. Flipping the bird was real sportsmanlike too. My point: I cannot stand Earnhardt as a racer or as a person.
