If we include NF4 boards of course it's DFI, then MSI NF4 delux...but I know BTbam was talking NF3 939 per our PM convos. Plus that's all he listed in poll...AGP boards.

Unless those boards offer the MOSFET heatsink cooling, copper chipset HSF, and the BIOS features of the ABIT AN8.... I think they will get their asses handed to them.

Of course there are no AN8 reviews yet.... But if the Fatal1ty AA8XE is any indication of what the AN8 will do... It will be sweet... Every possible voltage adjustment at a high enough ceiling to really push an OC... Cooling where it counts to keep it stable... (Do I like this board? ) Quality capacitors.... etc...

I have been waiting around for almost 2 years to upgrade, but nothing has given me a rise until I checked out the AA8XE review I linked above. I now have to decide which route to go... Push for 5GHz with the AA8XE, or go with a nice AN8 rig (after the reviews roll in) My Vapochill will fit either....

I am well aware of the plus and minus of either platform... So please, no AMD is superior to Intel (or visa versa) comments please... The decision will be suited to my needs.

When the eagle shits... (Tax Return), I will post in depth benchmarks of whichever route I go...

Sorry to ramble somewhat OT....

MSI boards do 300fsb consistently now...Unless you get a 3000+ chips what will be the need for all of that ocing from the board. The cpus will be the limiting factor...now bring on SS/SOI chips then we will see...

I and many have no issues with power now or heat with the msi mobo...I run at 330fsb and have been there for the last 4 weeks!!! I have done nothing extra to the cooling on anything of the board. Most everything is rather cool to the touch or not blazing hot (power caps)....

I also dont think my limit of 2.7ghz is anything short of limitations of the chip. There was an obvious sign of progression of vcore per fsb to make that clear....

I may look at a DFI board come when the winnie's get SS/SOI and I need to rush a 3000+ towards 3.0ghz

All I am saying I wouldn't wait (who knows how long) to het this board when current mobos will handle the ocing of current cpus to their limit effectively now...

I really don't see any mobo with DFI's crazy options ... I mean 4.0Vdimm ROTFLMAO that's more than DDR booster gives.

Now that would be nice...BUt as you have shown what would anything more then 2.9v on my ram get me but voided warranty and higher speeds but no real world performance gains....I say it is not much of an options then....

What is the projected cost???

$140 for ultra $190 for sli

What ram you got D? TCCD is that? it won't benefit above 2.9 anyway. The real deal is BH-5 or VX for it... 3.4V = 2-2-2 ~255

Gskill is TCCD and yeah reports of 2.85v on the msi board actually being closer to 2.9v...the best I could get (since one stick was bad...waiting for RMA) was 525ddr at cas 2.5,4,4,10....vdimm didn't matter here...did it at 2.75 to 2.85v...like I said 1 bad stick....Good stickj alone did 620ddr at cas 3,4,4,8 at 2.8v...all 1t....other stick wont boot in slot 1...window eeror in slot 3...works fine for some mysterious reason as a 2nd stick in slot 2. After 525ish ddr it will get errors in memtest, and always in the rage of 800-1000mb...2nd stick!!!

That good stick is sweet, I hope you get similar when back from RMA..

I'm having a hard time resisting that DFI board....finding no reasonable price PCIe card makes it easier though...LOL...I think I'm going to go ATI this time:Q 850xt... must resist.. however...bullhead board has even better read scores, like 33% better than NF4..exciting times
