I have a good friend whom before I got a GF, I really wanted.
she was engaged.

I have a friendship with her anyways and it does not bother me at all that I will never have a chance.
She's cool and I keep in touch with her just for that reason.

I say cultivate a relationship on that premise, even be blunt about it. Let her know you respect her, but won't date her while she's dating someone else. Of course, then she has to make the decision to dump the other boyfriend... if you're lucky, she will.

2. Commence hooking up.
3. Fvck.

I ended up friends with benefits with a girl in this situation I feel kinda bad for the guy, but he never found out afaik, and I blame the person with the obligation in that situation anyway, ie. the one in the relationship.

hey, I'm in the exact smame situation almost. I think she likes me, or at least used to like me. She has a BF that is "on and off" according to her words. So things were really great when he was "off" but somehow they are together again. She used to refer to him as the ex but now brings up "my BF" once in a while (so annoying when she does). Ever since then, she doesn't seem to like me anymore. I don't know what to do either. Seriously thinking of just giving up.
