(although I have never tried an ATI, and would like to, but I hear they can sometimes be a pain to get running properly, what with driver issues and such......)
I dunno. Hopefully I'll be in the military by summer, and won't have a need for a new video card for a while. I'd say whatever is hot in the fall/winter 2004.
Couldn't say for sure. Who's to say that ATI won't miss a product cycle in the future? If I were buying a card now, I would go for the Radeon 9500Pro. When I do upgrade, I'll buy what gives me the best performance for $200 or less. Peace.
Hey, leave the savage4 alone I'd probably be using it instead of my 50 dollar geforce2gts-v(best 50 bucks i ever spent) if the savage4 had 3d acceleration for win2k
I'd go with whatever's a super deal - but I must say, ATI got my vote because they're the ones concentrating on more than JUST gaming (though they're doing a smashing job of that too!)
ATI is working on DivX decompression, better video playback in general - whether it be movies off DVD, hard drive or internet live viewing.
Anyone else doing that? Nope... Not video card makers anyways. (3rd party add-ons count?)
I would just like to say I am quite amused. I've preferred ATI ever since I knew what video cards were, and a few years ago nVidia would have been the top
5) I don't know yet, I will decide on the best when I get there.....
I don't play the fanboy thing and I can't say in 1 month or so whether I will upgrade vid card or what brand....I say I may lean more towards ati but only for the AIW card features. My needs may change at anytime though.
I´ll be upgrading my ELSA Geforce 2 MX to an ATI Card, maybe a 8500, or if I can, to a 9500Pro... that is, Image quality and excellent Anisotropic filtering, I Love That. And of course, jump from my DX7 to a DX8.1 or DX9 if I get the money...
Well since I am always a step behind on latest stuff I think I will go with a GF4 Ti4600 when the new FX comes out(hoping it drops the price alot on Ti4600). But I may consider a Radeon 9500 Pro or something if its a noticeable difference between my current 250/250 Radeon 8500.
So it will be between Radeon 8500Pro or GF4 Ti4600.
