That's a load of Crap. You speak as if that's the undeniable truth when in reality you can't even come close to proving it. Until you can why don't you do me a favor and clarify your statements with "I believe" so you don't sound like your mind has been bricked off.

So I'm getting flamed on a technicality. Aren't we all smart enough to realize that none of us can neither prove nor disprove the existence of God? I sure could have said "I believe..." and maybe I should have. But talking about minds being bricked off...hmmm...

If there is/are (a) god(s), it/their existance will be known some day in the future.
If there is/are no god(s), it/their non-existance will never be proven.

Conclusion: since we can't prove anything, we should just forget about gods until they bother to give us a sign of their existance.

If that's what you want to do fine, but then again, you're ignoring the basis of science; desire to prove the unproven, discover the undiscovered. We can't prove anything? Are you sure? You said yourself, if God exists, then someday His existance will be proven. I guess you have FAITH that he doesn't exist since you claim we can't prove anything?

We can't prove a lot of things. We can't prove timely interstellar travel is possible right now, so does that mean that we should give up trying to do it? I'll bring up my example before, a couple hundred years ago, we couldn't prove flight of man was possible, but we didn't give up and look.

I know, I know. There's a difference between these things and God. God is not an invention, but his existance would be an important discovery. Just because we don't know for sure if we will ever prove his existance, should be just give up and ignore all mention of God?

I remember in the bad old days (April) I used to start these threads!

Now, I just stand firm in my trust in science, based on evidence and repeatable experiments..... Peace!

It's obvious by the comments of some here they aren't interested in a lively discussion or in the possibility of actually learning something new.

Instead, they would rather "prove" how right their opinions are. Is not the point of these discussions to approach them with an open mind so that we may each learn something new and expand our horizons?

I appreciate those with comments that have given me a new perspective on this topic and brought up things I may not have thought about before.

Good for you. Not a bad stance to take, and I do not mean than scarcastically. I too have trust in science and the scientific process, and I respect anyone else who does as well. In fact, I think it's flawed to think otherwise.

However it is MHO that anyone who think that something doesn't exist because science has not proven it YET, is being ignorant, arrogant and closed minded. If someone chooses not to believe in God, then fine. That's a God given right (forgive me, I couldn't resist ) and I totally respect that. But don't try to convince me that my choice to believe in God is misguided because no one can prove that God doesn't exist anymore that I can prove God does exist.

<< That's what I think is the truth. I better be positive that's the truth because if it isn't then I'm in for a long eternity Hahaha >>

Ha ha. LOL. Good point Red, I like your attitude. And thanks for lightening things up in here.

No, I did not say that.

I said that we can not prove the existance of any gods. They must prove their existance, not us Humans.

What would qualify as, "proof"?

Whatever those gods think will be sufficient. They won't underestimate what is necessary if they're indeed so good as we think they are.

Anyone who says both, for the reason that "Science is the study of what God gave us", then your vote counts as one for God - not both.

What would qualify as, "proof"?

I want all the Miracles that could only have happened so long ago to happen just ONCE now, Instead of being on a scoll from some made up guy.

If I could see someone part the red sea now and get that on MSNBC.. hey you might have some real proof there. But right now all it looks like is government made up to keep people from doing the 10 commandments and basically make it easier for them to keep order. The monarch's that created it and supported it were very smart.

Even miracles are not proof of the existance of god. Only that miracles happen. I personally do not give much credence to miracles. If something happens that we do not understand we call it a miracle, given more information it may be completly understandable.

I can find a spot for a god force in my world view, but the Christian concept of god does not fit into that spot.

Miracles are given every day to people like you and me, at the request of a family member. It is the way God can fix a life built on words that have produced tragedy or a twisted outcome.

The best way to live is not on miracles, but on a life built on good Words, line upon line, day upon day.

As we near the takeover, you will see undeniable physical events, that no man can say there is no God.

This will not give you peace, if you do not know God.

Only Gods Words, can give you peace.

Ok, and i am telling you that JKNINN the magical dancing elf is living in another universe, far, far away, he is the true God, he rules the entire universe that we know of, but he cannot be seen yet so i cannot prove it... But that is just because science cannot prove it YET...

If you do not believe in that you are being ignorant, arrogant and close minded...

You might think that such a belief is ridiculous, but i think that your beliefs are just as "far out", so if i dont believe in the same things that you do i am being ignorant, arrogant and close minded?

MrPALCO, if there are any gods, it will be gods like Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu. Not your 'all-powerful', 'all-knowing' god who still makes terrible mistakes if you accept what's written in the bible.

Someone said to a Man, "my car would run on water, in the gas tank, that is what I and my friends, believe". The Man said, "I will use gas".

The Man was right, and he went successfully on a long journey. Someone was wrong, and could go nowhere.

Every man will decide what he believes, that is the way power or weakness is accessed in the physical realm.

A man said to me, "Eternity awaits your decision".

That is a lousy comparison, if you put water in your tank you will not be able to drive, but if you choose not to believe in fairy tales about some god mentioned in a book you will not be able to live? Is that what you are saying?

I don't care, you can have all of your beliefs, but do not try tell me that i am ignorant because i don't believe in god.

<< but if you choose not to believe in fairy tales about some god mentioned in a book you will not be able to live >>

I asked a Man about this , here is what he said:

" If you are not joined to God, you are dead. Existing in the physical realm is not life, it is a tiny portion of what man was created to have dominion over. The physical realm is the place where every man will choose what he will believe and cleave to. Some men are satisfied with the pleasure of the physical realm. At the end of the time in the body, there will be life and freedom forever.....or not ."

I choose life.

MrPalco:

I get it now, you are just kidding... LOL, you had me going there for a while with all that "i asked a Man" BS LOL...

Oh, BTW, i choose to believe that when i die i just rest, just gone, that sounds fine to me... So i choose life while i am living and death when i am dead... And you are spending your days planning for your afterlife... man, you must have a pretty boring life...

There is no "afterlife" for me. I am already into, eternity. When I choose to leave my body, the transition will be seemless.

I asked a Man about that, he said:

"The dude will be very surprised when he dies in agony and there is nothing left to plan for"

I for one hope there is no eternity, i don't want heaven, i don't want hell, i just want an end when the time is right.
