i had stitches in my mouth, when they had to pull out a molar when i was younger.

I needed them to close a 6-inch vertical scar on my stomach/abdomen after a spleenectomy. 6-inches is not pretty...

Haha! That's what I had done. 9 stitches, I think.

The septum is supposedly the most painful part to pierce, but after ripping it, I'm not entirely sure I believe that.

I think staples should count.

If staples count then the 14 I had from my partial colonectomy should put me in the top 10....

I've had stiches at least 5 different times, in my lip, forehead, mouth, man prolly more like 7 or 8 times now that I think of it... they never stop sucking!

I easily had 30... I can still see the holes on either side of the scar. Good thing it was mostly numb.

10 broken bones, multiple ortho surgeries.

last count was somewhere near 1200 stitches (edit: recounted it's actually closer to 1200)

32 on one side of my forehead, 18 on the other side, 6 on the side of my right leg, 30 on the side of my left leg, 6 sets of 36 on my right knee, several hundered cat gut stitches inside my left forearm after reconstructive surgery, ~90 on the outside of my left forearm, then double the last 2 sets from when they took the 36 screws and 2 rods out 2 1/2 years later, 14 inside my nose from a septoplasty, 3 on my left pinky finger, 4 on the back of my left hand, 6 on my right forearm, ~25 on my right foot near the ankle.

3 broken bones, multiple dislocated shoulders, dislocated right knee cap (permantly gives me problems since I'm missing a lot of tendon there now), 1 shattered bone in my forearm (hence the reconstructive surgery) and countless concuscions (from my kickboxing and ninjitsu training)

nice thing about most of this happening while I was young, is that my scarring isn't very visible. you can only really see the scar on the right side of my forehead, and the 2 scars where the doctors picked out the bone fragments, and re threaded my muscles together on my left arm, the other scars are somewhat visible, but they have been sunburned enough to match the pigment of the surrounding skin so unless you get close you can't really see them.

needless to say I was a very active youngster.

Wait until you see it... ran from above the belly button to just above the pubic bone.
I say top 10, you can say whatever, you just haven't had one like it to counter with AFAIK.

The time I tried to remove my own nose was the best one I can think of at the moment. Not much of a scar these days though.
