my girlfriend and i through out highschool were attached at the hip... second college hit everything went down hill fast... really really fast...

should add a poll to how many people ended up finding a girl in college ...

I've known only one high school couple that made it long enough to get married, and they were divorced within 6 months. I suppose it could work for some couples, but 99% of the time at least one person will begin to wonder "what else is out there". Once that seed of doubt is planted the relationship is destined to fail by either outright breakup or dysfunction as the person begins to feel trapped.

I know several couples that dated in HS that are now getting married after graduating from college. However, I would give credit to the fact that I grew up in a rural area and most people attend the same college.

As for me, I was dating a freshman as a senior in HS. We made it until about my Junior year in college and by then we were just too different from each other. Also, I ended up attending a school about 320 miles from my hometown and was only able to see her 5-6 times a year.

Kayla was single when she left HS (Not anymore )
Melissa dropped him a few weeks into summer after senior year.
Jason is socially retarded.
Tyler didn't settle down until he got to college.
Rick has accepted his fate as a 300lb nuclear engineering major.
Brinker has accepted his fate as a 7ft Biology major who spends all his free time playing Colecovision.
Zak didn't enter college right after graduating HS, so that breaks things.

I know of two, one was with the guy since probably 14 and they were parted by the Atlantic Ocean until about 18. I can garauntee both have been monogomous. Both are awesome people. The other girl has been with this guy since she was in 8th grade. Both parties are right now going through college.

It's if your other is willing to commit to constant change. People chnage, scheduales change, and attidues change with them. If you expect everything to stay the same, the relationship will not last. Things change over time and relationships must change with it.

Yeah I'm in the same situation myself. Girlfriend of over a year...friend for over 7 years. It's almost impossible to think of us in any other type of relationship...but I'd be lying if I wasn't scared about the future. It's at least nice to know that it's worked for other people.

There is only 1 person I can think of who stayed with their HS girlfriend, made it through college, got married and is still married. But he dated other girls in college and she probly dated other guys too.

No to mine, yes to friends. They actually married in February and graduated just now in May.
