My mother has as far back as I can remember, probably from living in Europe*. I always thought it was weird, but one day doing math homework I decided to try something different and copy her sevens, little did I know one or two days of playing around with crossed sevens has left me with a permanent seven crossing complex for the past 10+ years.



*(some quick searching told me its common there, if not please correct me)

when its important for the numbers to be read accurately by someone else, yes, cross sevens and zeros and whatever else. usually in alphanumeric serial keys or something like that.

Sevens, yes. Don't have a clue where I picked up that habit.
Zeroes, yes. A must for any programmer that handwrites code/documentation/comments.

Yes I do, Yes I am european. The reason is in europe 1 is written as 1 not l ... it's got the little line that goes down off the top of the vertical line.

i do too, mainly due to my lack of time spent writing usually makes them look like my 2's. i dot the middle of my O's tho, since a mistake between O and 0 is very annoying.
