Both are very good IMO.

I've seen the first 3 (Babel, Departed, Iwo Jiwa). I wanted to see Little Miss Sunshine, but we only got the French translated version. And I have no clue of what The Queen is.

Those are the only two that I saw also. They're pretty good, but not as good as everyone else hyped them to be.

If you enjoy WW2 movies, you'll like it. I don't remember having seen a movie that is about the jap point of view of the war.

Little Miss Sunshine. It has some funny parts. I didn't like the ending at all. Come on, a giant spider? Lame.

All were good, none good enough to be a "best pic". I'd like to see the Clint Eastwood one, and everybody I know who saw Babel said it was icky, so no desire to waste my hard-earned cash on it.

The Departed was great, Bable not so hot. I really don't know how they got Brad Pitt for that movie. But that was it's selling point. If it had someone else in it, the movie would not have gotten so much recognition. He's not even in the movie that often.

None of these is better than previous Best Picture winners.
I like Helen Mirren but the material was not Oscar caliber.
