i do not wish to turn this into a p&n type thread, but just to discuss the current voting system and how if affects whether you plan to vote or not.
for example, my state is a predominant blue state. i would like to vote for the "other nominee" but because he has no chance of winning in my state, i am not going to bother.
personally, i think there are a lot of people who feel this way and this may or may not affect the outcome of the race. it's not as close as it was last time around.
the electoral college was an idea implemented back in the day, but it's outdated now and i don't see a reason to not go to a popular vote system.
in an electoral system, if a candidate gets 51% of votes in CA, he gets ALL 55 electoral votes. how is that fair?
