In HS probably negative 10. Which means that there were about 10 days where I was sick and went to school anyway because I couldn't afford to miss class. In college, there have been two days when I was sick that I went to classes anyway.
We were allowed 10 absenses per semester. I missed the max each semester. So, I missed 80 days in 4 years of High School. I took all advanced placement classes and graduated with a 3.8/4 GPA.
I counldn't even count how many days I missed in elementary school b/c I was plagued with ear infections.
In high school, soo many times, I think I too did the max number of days off per year. In college though I rarely missed and never faked it, I actually cared then about going, high school was a bit different.
Even though I missed 80 days PLUS functions for student council, national honors society, etc, I have missed a LOT less college courses. I have, however, been known to skip the easy classes (electives...).
my parents let me stay home once in awhile if i had good grades up to that point. It was nice to have a 3 day weekend once in awhile. In college, i skipped a grand total of 2 classes.
In HS probably i don't think i ever did. If I wanted to skip I just did. Now I am a senior in college. I probably skip at least 5-6 classes a week, but my classes are usually only 1 hour long. Made the dean's list too
<edit> iamwiz82, only 2 classes!! how are you not tempted to skip more with kettering's classes being so short?!! </edit>
cant afford it right now =]. I had Wolbert in math and she is anal about attendance. It seems every prof i got has a weird attendance policy, except Geske.
Oh man, freshman year a couple of kids in my unit had wolbert for calc 1, they still say she was the worst teacher they've ever had. Thank god for AP credit, I didn't even have to take calc 1.
wolbert is satan reincarnated. She graded a buddy of mine off 5 points cuz his writing slanted downwards. I passed with a 70. lol. Its not that i dont understand the applications, because i do. Its her way of marking off points that do not deserve to be marked off.
