Poll: How popular are DVDs???

i don't understand the poll at all, you asked how popular is dvd but then in your poll you compare it to VHS which has been around for a lot longer than dvd and is a lot more versatile than dvds. obviously VHS is alot more popular than DVD simply becasue everyone has a VCR and tons of tapes at home as opposed to DVD players and dvds. if you don't believe me and are a total senseless advocate of dvd's just walk into any blockbuster or video store of the like, and tell what do you see? aisles upon aisles of VHS tapes vs. one or two aisles of DVDs. now don't flame me, i like dvd's as much as the next guy but VHS is obviously more popular than DVD at this point in time. oh yeah....WRONG FORUM!

BiggieN - VHS more versatile than DVD? Why is it Digital Versatile Disk then? ;-) I can't play a video game off my video tapes... just a thought.

I also have 120+ DVD's bought in the last year for basically 50 bucks or so total using a variety of hot deals. Also a portable dvd player for free thanks to jaboom/freeride/mshow/etcetera, so I think that this is somewhat hot deal related.

Yet I still have a moral dillemma between the evil of the MPAA and my DVD obsession...

have you tried recording a ball game on DVD yet, zhensel? have you tried giving your friend a copy of your wedding video or a birthday party on DVD yet? until DVD-R becomes mainstream VHS will still remain it in my book. however, nothing beats the quality of dvds.
