Curious, because I sometimes like what commentators have to say, sometimes get seriously pissed. The debate itself, I suppose, will be the same, maybe identical from start to finish, I don't know. But the networks have commentators, before and after. Myself, I may stay away from partisan commentary, e.g. what a chosen Democrat or chosen Republican has to say. I don't know if they will have that, anyway, maybe that was just the SOTU. Myself, I haven't made a choice yet, I want to see what people say here before I do.

I voted NBC (might change my mind after and if something here convinces me to), because I intend to watch the Olympic Trials later.

The New York Times article on the debate tonight. This link will work for the next 14 days, i.e. until July 11, 2024 to get you through the paywall:

It seems to be available on the web at . . . wait for it . . . CNN.com.

The why is simply because they're hosting the event. I made this choice here simply to let people know it's available. if I don't like their talking heads I'll switch.

I added CNN to the poll. If you want to you can vote that now.

The downside to watching CNN for the debate for me is that it would be my laptop which is on my lap. It's more comfortable to watch my 43" 4K TV for 2 hours.

Many newer TVs have the YouTube option built into their menus. Elsewise, you can cast it to your tube from your laptop. In conclusion, I wish to remark upon what a truly momentous discussion you and I are having here.

Not gonna watch, but I might keep tabs via whatever thread pops up on these forums.
I mean, this isn't going to change my opinions on the candidates, but I get the highlights and gaffes distilled for my entertainment.
Who can forget the Pence fly!

So here's something I think Biden needs to do - call trump a loser. Not directly though, as that will be seen as a democrat being too offensive (even though trump calls people losers all the time). But simply say "trump can't admit he lost in 2020".

Either I'll watch on CNN or C-SPAN2 (rebroadcast from CNN), or I'll just catch the highlights afterwards. I have a hard time listening to TwoScoops speaking for any length, though I wouldn't mind seeing him rage when his mic gets cut for interruptions (as I expect).

Too much work. Thinking is haaaard. That's why I almost exclusively get my opinions pre-washed and packaged from wet-behind-the-ears influencers on youtube. If it's on youtube it must be true!

Canned group-think is their bread-n-butter.

The link I posted above to the paywall pierced New York Times article explains the debate format and other things. Each candidate will have their mic muted except when it's their turn to speak. Presumably you won't be able to hear muted insolence. The other candidate will, though, because they aren't that far apart, but they will be speaking, so...

Given the choice between watching the debate and eating dirt, I would have to ask how much dirt I have to eat to be excused.

I suspect Muse's TV is not newer 😀

Won’t likely watch it because i'll be out. May catch the end of it. It doesn’t matter to me because the only way Trump would get my vote is if Biden were to murder someone on live on stage.
