i only get paid 1 a month so i would have to say 1 month but logistaclly only 2 weeks as i could probably come close to saving 3k in 1 month if i choose to.

I get paid every 2 weeks... and even with mortgage, dual income can help me save that $1k in that amount of time... but I have other debts that I pay off when I can.

I invest $2k a month in a few funds. $1,500 of which is going in a short term bond fund for a home purchase in a few years. I can stop that fund at any time.... so I'll say 2 weeks as I have $1k left over after my paychecks every two weeks.
