Poll: Inverted mouse in FPSs?

Curious, do you invert your mouse in FPSs, so that moving it down moves your view upward & vice versa? I always have, but then I use esdf too.. such a rebel

Er. Only for flying. I try to stick with defaults as much as I can. I sometimes change keyboard configurations to more conventional setups, if there's a need. This means I can pick up pretty much any FPS without much work, play at a friend's house, etc. It's easy to adapt to a conventional setup, so why not do it? I was smart enough to do it from the beginning. Defaults FTW.

yup, can't play when it's not inverted. Maybe it's because when I started playing computer my favorite games where F-15 Strike Eagle II and F-117A Stealth Bomber.

I do. When Q1 came out, the default was inverted so I stuck with it.

That's how it started for me as well. Just got used to it over hours and hours of Quake, and now I feel lost if it's not inverted.

I don't understand how anyone could ever play like that unless they play tons of flight sims..then again if I ever play a flying game I still dont use inverted controls. I switch them immediately..I don't care if its unrealistic for flying..I'll never fly a plane anyways.

I've only used inverted since I began gaming way way back when. I've tried going non-inverted but I've already trained myself to do otherwise so it was a no go.

Yup, always inverted, I can't play the game otherwise. Then again I also use the right mouse button to move forward, which people think is really strange.

That's the set up I had for Quake 1. Now that so many games have alt fires and what not my right mouse button is tied up for other things but from time to time I still use it to move forward. For a bit in Q1 my uparrow was jump and my right mouse was forward. Inverted ftw!

Truly crazy... Well it sure does depend on when you started pc gaming for sure. I started in early 1999 when Half Life 1 came out. I'm sure if I started pc gaming when Wolfenstein 3D came out or something things would be different.
