Juanita Gustin said she used the mailbox on Friday, but now it's gone. A Google street view image from October shows where it stood, but on Wednesday it was nowhere to be found.
"That was something everybody in the neighborhood used. We have nothing close to us," Gustin said.
Gustin was wondering if it could be politics at play.
A USPS spokesperson said the box was removed because employees were unable to open it, something that happens often due to vandalism or mechanical failure. He called the removal standard procedure. He said a replacement mailbox is on the way. The USPS spokesperson didn't specify when the mailbox would be back.

The country is soooo much worse off than anyone can imagine. We have THIS postal thing, and then we have Donald Trump praising QANON, and his threatening not to leave office should he lose, and an entire republican party in his pocket. And soon, an entire US Supreme Court in his pocket. When people refused to vote for Hillary Clinton simply because they didn't like her looks or her laugh or her eyes or her husband, when people decided to vote for Donald Trump is THIS what they expected? Have they no shame? Have they no shock? More and more I now believe that THIS will unavoidability lead to a national civil war. A violent national civil war, one against the other. At what point is enough, enough for Trump people? When the postal system no longer exists? When this president can serve in office until he decides the time to leave? When people can no longer vote? I see a division unlike we have ever seen since the civil war of 1861. With the divisions so deep and this president so utterly out of control that Americans will have no choice but to take up arms and take back their country. I mean, this is really getting bad.
