Out of curiosity, what do you see as the big GNOME improvements? I've always been a GNOME fan, but the last AT poll I recall was probably early in GNOME 2.2, and I don't see anything huge separating 2.2 from 2.4.Originally posted by: Vadatajs
Both KDE and GNOME have made some big improvements since last time noticed one of these polls here.
Not debating or anything - I just find it interesting how everyone has their own little deciding factors in evaluating desktops.
edit: Oh, yeah... while I'm at it, if y'all haven't checked out XFCE4, you really should. I just finished setting it up on my laptop from work - 1GHz Celeron w/256MB of PC133 and crappy video. GNOME worked, but felt a bit too sluggish. XFCE4, however, is sweet. Much nicer than the old version, IMO.

Is it possible to use KDE/KDevelop without Qt?

For small scale application developers who doesn't want to open their source code, it make sense not to use Qt, as its license fees are very high.

"without QT" was pretty vague. It sounded like you were asking if kdevelop would work without QT installed.
I can't imagine that kdevelop demands you write only QT apps in it.

KDE, but with all those nifty Gnome screensavers added. Don't think my opinion counts much tho...XP/2k3 is my OS o' choice.

You're the only MS fan allowed to post unscathed.

I am still confused! So, are there other options for Linux GUI elements other than Qt? Can we develop GUI applications using KDevelop but without using Qt?Originally posted by: BingBongWongFooey
