I chose alchohol hands down. I quit doing pot little over a year ago. Lost too many friends, including a girlfriend to that stupid addiction.

Since when is pot easier to get than booze? My town is always dry when it comes to pot, I have to drive 45 minutes to Rowan just to get anything when I am home. Even my own college is dry half the time and it sucks. When it comes to alcohol, older siblings, older friends, even my girlfriend are all lined up to buy for me whenever I want.

but seriously, this is the easiet choice I'd ever have to make. Pot wins hands down. Nothing better than a night on the town where all you do is get burnt with some good friends.

Weed is definitely easier to get around here. About as easy to get as a candy bar. I guess that's because most of the kids at my school are rich so they can easily afford it.

Considering how many of the people who voted have never tried it, we can safely conclude that weed >> alcohol.

Booze, but only because smoking weed increases your chances of lung cancer. No I am not ignorant and I don't think weed is dangerous but smoking anything, the grass on your lawn, will increase your chances of lung caner quite a lot. I chose to die of liver poisoning

I like the idea of still being able to function while under the influence of any drug. Alcohol just makes me ill and is only fun on special occasions but to much and you can't drive or function and it can hit you just like that! Weed i can take a few hits off the onie and still be productive and provided I'm not doing anything analytical i can even be more productive.

I'm all for drinking and smoking (I do both), but this isn't the greatest argument.

If you drink in moderation, you can still be productive in what you need to do (as long as its not driving, heavy machinery, etc, which you shouldn't do high anyway) and be functional. If you cannot function, then you're either purposely drinking too much (nothing wrong with that sometimes) or can't handle your alcohol.

If personally you have problem with even the slightest amount of alcohol in your system, then thats a completely different story.

Ever hear of the term "high as sh!t." You can get plenty fvcked up from alcohol or pot.

While you can take a few hits, I can have a few beers and still be fine. As long as you moderate yourself, you'll never lose control unless on purpose.

And on an unrealted note, I'll be coming home from college tomorrow, so the festivities will commence fully

I prefer maryjane, I don't get any negative effects whatsoever from it (besides pasties), like I do with alcohol.. i get sick easily from drinking, and not from smoking!

I always wake up the next day feeling like a champ, too... LOL

Hmm.. I'd imagine they can, actually. So yeah.

But what I was getting at, is that casual social drinking won't hurt your liver at all.

Just like the occasional pollution shouldn't hurt your lungs? lol...

Well, I'm basing this on a recent study that showed that quitting smoking (cigarettes) by the age of 30 allows your body to shrug off most of it's effects, and a study one of my friends did about 8 years ago that came to much the same result, but I'd say the lungs do have some regenerative capacity. I also know that milk thistle is supposed to help the liver regenerate, so all you alkies should pick some up.
I was an alcoholic myself for a number of years, as well... then I got out of the military and the herbal alternative became much less risky. I still indulge in booze occasionally, but not very often. There's just no comparison.

I think after 24 hours or so after your last drag of smoke (whatever kind), the "cilia" (like little hairs inside the lung?) begin to grow themselves back. Completely talking out of my ass but that's what I thought anyway.

Give me ganja any day. I try to be reasonable with my intake of both, although I definitely smoke marijuana more frequently.

Quite an even split among the geeks!

Those who complain that smoking weed is bad for your lungs, should invest in a Techno-Bong of the Future.

My friend has a Vapir. It's an awesome experience to smoke from one. I will explain how it works:

The temparature at which the plant material in marijuana combusts is much higher than the temparature that THC and the other psychoactive ingredients contained in marijuana do. Lighters and matches both produce flames that exceed the thershold necessary for the plant material to combust. Vaporizers "bake" the marijuana at a temparature which is conducive to "cooking" the psychoactive chemicals while leaving the plant material untouched. The amount of smoke is drastically reduced, and the carcinogens in the smoke produced are virtually eliminated.

:Q never knew there were so many smokers on atot...I guess I've done my share of both but if I had to choose one or the other I'd choose alcohol just for the social aspects...but if I had to live in a cave by myself for the rest of my life...I'd go green
