POLL: Natalie Portman in new scenes being made for Return Of The Jedi

MTV apparently re-iterated rumours that Natalie Portman has signed on to be a part of the new scenes being filmed for Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi - she'll shoot scenes during the production of Episode III which'll then be reinserted to the DVD release of 'Jedi'.

If true, what do you think?

In ROTJ? Hmm, I was thinking it might have been alright in A New Hope, but ROTJ is a little late, IMO. Unless they have her as a Jedi Ghost (or whatever they are called) meeting up with Anikan.. .but that would be gross! Old Ani with super-fine Amadala? Ewwww.

I'm thinking she could show up in a flashback scene when Luke and Leia are discussing their parents in the Ewok Village. ("She was very beautiful, yet... sad.") Sounds kinda cool.

Edit 2: There ya' go. It also explains what happens to Amidala -- she died when Luke and Leia were young. Not during childbirth, and probably not at the hands of Vader/Anakin. Why, though...?

While in general I agree that more Natalie = more good, in this case, I just can't see it fitting into ROTJ. I mean, what are they going to do, insert a cut scene when Leia and Luke are talking and Luke asks Leia about her mother?

My friends and I were thinking it'd be more along the lines of a family reunion at the end....they'll already have Anakin/Darth, Obi-Wan (Guiness) and Yoda, so they just have to stick a ghost of Amidala in there, and since she'll get killed in the next movie, she'll be the right age to do the filming at the same time as Ep. III.

Just speculating.

When you paint with watercolors, my instructors made sure to mention that there is a point when you should NOT screw with the painting ANYMORE because if you keep screwing with it pretty soon it all starts to look brown and muddy!
