I have been reverse scrolling for like 15 years and just started natural scrolling and I like it but I am having a hard time getting used to it. I am curious which scrolling method most people prefer these days so I started this poll.

If I used a touch pad exclusively, I'd use natural scrolling.

But I use an external mouse because it speeds up my workflow, and there is just no getting used to natural scrolling with a mouse wheel, for me at least. So I got used to reverse scrolling, both with the mouse and touch pad. It's not a huge transition, you get used to it after a few days.

Natural scrolling, although while I'm happy using either it takes me a few minutes to transition.

I always use reverse scrolling as that's how I've done it for years. You scroll down to make the page go down, duh. Makes sense. Natural scrolling I only really use on my iPad. I guess because it's a more tactile experience with the touch screen.

My set up at work requires me to switch between Mac and Windows (in a virtual OS). I use and prefer Natural on the Mac side and Reverse on the Windows side.

I am funny that way (I write, eat, bat, and shoot handguns left-handed. I throw, mouse, play basketball, and shoot riffles right-handed)

Natural scrolling feels more natural once I took the few minutes to get used to it.

Reverse scrolling with my mouse on my Windows Desktop. Natural on my iPad and iPhone/Android phones (no choice). Don't ever think about it either way really.

Reverse. Have to run Scroll Reverser on pretty much every Mac I use.

In my view, the logic behind a scroll wheel does not fit the same logic as a touch gesture, as it seems so-called natural scrolling is trying to force.

If I can touch a page itself (IE: where the content of the page is) then yes, I'm going to push it UP to move to the bottom.

But a scroll wheel isn't emulating pushing a page- it's emulating my mouse moving the scroll bar at the side of the page. That's what I'd do in place of the wheel, click that bar, and pull it down. So I'm scrolling DOWN (ie: moving the scroll bar down) NOT pushing the page itself.

I use natural scrolling on a trackpad, and 'reverse' scrolling on a mouse.

Why? It's just a setting in the prefs.

Are you using both a mouse and a touchpad or something?

True, but I with they'd make it independent for mouse/touchpad. Hence: Scroll Reverser.

Yup. Touchpad + mouse always. I should have been more specific: like TheStu and others, I prefer natural on touchpad, reverse with a mouse.

Reverse scrolling. Natural seems better in theory, but old habits die hard.
