everyone likes Kennedy. Remember when the Dems were about "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."

Remember when Eisenhower - hardly a pinko commie - with a Republican congress raised taxes on millionaires to 93%? 93!!!!!

Reagan had to actually work with Congress which had a Dem Majority. And was highly successful. Obama, ... Not so much, or at all. Continually insults Congress and then asks for cooperation. Not happening.
Ignorance is strong in this one............

If you disqualified the current and last Presidents then most respondents' "worst President since World War II" would probably be the only one they could remember that's not of their own party.

Hard for anyone to legitimately beat Nixon, although if anyone could do so it would be Obama who has successfully adopted many of Nixon's worst tendencies. But as Zebo says, the next (of either party) will probably be worse.

The media didn't assist Nixon.

I also believe the polls and comparisons are of different animals. Nixon and Carter were disliked for what they done. I'd bet Obama's problem with the people is from what he didn't do. I feel people expected Obama a more hands on president. People feel he compromises too easily and has way too much blind trust in opponents good faith. People were unhappy he did not get personally involved with healthcare reform. People didn't want more of the same, they wanted the public option. Obama believes in the system ie congress getting it done while he simply waits for the bill to land on his desk. LBJ would have never governed as Obama has. People expected Obama to govern more aggressive. Not as a back seat passenger. As far as I see it, Obama only seems to get his blood pressure going when he is attacked personally. When his progressive ideals are attacked, Obama acts like oh-well.
That laid back attitude pisses people off. Especially liberals. Obama needs to learn a little LBJ ass kicking.

True. Neither did his own party. Obama has both of those things going for him.

That's actually good for us in a way, since Nixon was a much worse person and with Obama's advantages would have been a much worse President.

This may come as a shock, but those who are not the far left 10% are actually people too. As far as waiting for Congress to get something done, Obama has been quite aggressive in not waiting for Congress to get something done, as well as ignoring what past Congresses have done when he disagrees. I assure you that most of those people unhappy with Obama base that on what he's done.

Serious question... Do people so passionately defend Obama because they have to justify voting for him?

Are they so stuck to party ideals that it sways common sense? Or, do they really not see the shortcomings of this man? For the most part he HAS been a terrible president incapable of facilitating shit.

His foreign policy is clearly a failure and the country is ridiculously divided down party lines. The first term was about blaming Bush, the second is about blaming Congress. Others have managed to bring this country together under much worse circumstances....he sure isn't. Accountability is out the window and public faith in their government is at a very low point. Bush was horrible as well but this is of no consequence to what's taking place here and now and for the majority of Obama's time in office.

All I hear is righty this and lefty that....talk about bubbles. Divide and conquer tactics..it's working.

Speaking of serious questions here is just a couple.

Simple Yes or No:

Would you rather have had McCain and Romney with the Republican dominated Congress in power continuing the War machine killing thousands of our men and women in Wars we have no business starting?

Would you rather have had McCain and Romney with the Republican dominated Congress in power continuing to make tax cuts for the rich when the rich are still hoarding in record amounts of cash while the rest of the citizenry descent slowly back into Medieval serfdom?

Hmm interesting questions Dave.. as they say only Clinton could have passed welfare reform and banker benefit. Know who your enemies are, all of them.

Plus, people are fickle. All it takes is one election to trash the economy, get mucked down in wars, and double digit unemployment. That one election could easily come in November.
Certainly in 2016.
I'm shocked people still remember the good ole days of bill Clinton.
But sadly it took 8 years of Bush for most people to remember the days of Clinton.
I don't know about fickle people not knowing a good thing.
Maybe if Obama juggled or played a musical instrument? Then his poll figures might soar.
When you look back on American history it's obvious the voters are pretty much morons as a whole. We fail to realize we get what we vote for. And deserve it we do.

George W. Bush effectively bankrupted America; how worse could a President be?

This study shows just how quickly people forget certain things.
