Going straight to the dems wouldn't do any good, repubs controlled the hearings, who could be called to testify, etc. The WH controlled the FBI investigation and they wouldn't take a chance on scuttling their boy. These witnesses contacted the FBI and the FBI couldn't talk to them under orders of the WH, Dems couldn't call them to testify, so what exactly could they have done?
