Generally if you just go "Excuse me I cant get past your car, any chance you could move it forward a tad?" you'll get a decent response.

Going up and sticking a video camera in someones face... not so much.

Except it is clear the driver knew exactly what that did.

Aren't you one of those that cry about the pussification of America?

Why beat around the bush and pretend to be something you are not?

The video-taper had a right to be angry, spoke up and the two guys (as well as their friend) acted like asshats. I have no doubt these types are the same kind that cause issues for other bike riders because a driver encountered someone just like these guys being greedy with the road.

Which would be true, except the asshat was recording the conflict. He wanted the response he got. If you confront someone while recording you are just asking to bring out the worse in humanity.

Everyone involved should be sterilized for the good of mankind.

This why you wear those steel-toes you have mentioned?

Thanks for proving my point. The camera in your face doesn't dictate which actions are correct. It may influence how you respond, but that says absolutely nothing about the facts of the situation.

What point? The point that the guy in the video wasn't interested in asking them to move their car at all and just wanted something to post on youtube?

If something isnt bothering you enough that you want to turn your video camera off to discuss it then its not bothering you.

See above. I understand what you're saying, but it's still irrelevant. Most people can't rise above their immediate feelings, but that doesn't give them a pass.

I guess what I'm saying is right or wrong, if you are pointing a camera in my face, I will just assume you are being a douche bag. I'm not even going to think about my actions, instead I'm going to treat you like an asshole that is in my way. No different than a beggar who won't take no for an answer for some change.

If you want a polite response, be polite. Invading someone's space with a camera just screams "I want a reaction, not a solution". The guy is a self righteous asshole. He probably thinks his shit doesn't stink. The fact is that everyone does stupid shit all the time, what these guys did was basically one of the minimal things imaginable on the scale of being bad guys. The only complaint was that it "may" inconvenience someone at the apple-bees (the walmart of restaurants). The fact it was even put on youtube shows the degeneration of our society as a whole and why the Chinese are winning.

So? If asked politely and for a reason whos to say they wouldn't have given a polite response?

Aren't you one of those that cry about the pussification of America?

Nope, I dont really give the leastest of shits about this pussification of America that you're bleating about.

Why beat around the bush and pretend to be something you are not?

I'm Welshbloke from Wales. I like beer and I work in a hospital. Not sure exactly what I'm pretending to be.

...you've been fantasising about me again haven't you? Like I told you last time, I'm happily married, plus you cant afford the airfare.

Why did the guy have a right to be angry? Was he trying to fit though there in his wheelchair? Was he helping his poor aged grandmother through on her walker?

Nope. He was drunk and sticking a camera in someones face in the hope he'd have something to post on youtube.

Rudeness doesn't deem a polite reply though. If you want to suck it up and pretend the world is always just and right, then that's up to you. I can guarantee you aren't one to speak up in things like this though.

I was speaking in general, not specifically you. Lol at not affording the airfare though.

You are clearly bitter. Why does one have to be handicapped to be allowed to walk freely on a sidewalk?

You can guarantee that can you? Really? Do I get a free tea set with that as well?
What I will "guarantee" is that you'll get a better response talking to people if you dont video them at the same time.

In what way am I bitter? Do I spend my time walking around carparks videoing people in a desperate effort to fill my time?

And that guy was free to walk on the sidewalk as he demonstrated... by walking on the sidewalk. Then walking through the carpark.

Well, in all of your goal to be polite and passive; you are spending an awful lot of time on this thread being rather rude.

It's typical though. It's sad it's not apparent to you.

Who says I'm trying to be either polite or passive?

If I cared to get a decent response out of you I might, but as I crossed that bridge a long time ago I'll just post as I like now.

What's typical? The fact that you cant follow what's going on?

It's called having a backbone to speak up when something is wrong.

Speaking up is fine, but you simply don't approach someone in there car like that. There are too many people in this would willing to kill someone else over something as petty as this.

I don't live my life in that much fear.

Most bicyclists are uppity, entitled assholes like this so it's great that they bolster the stereotype. Did the park wrong? I actually though they parked right. It would annoy me more if their bikes were stuck "out" where other cars would be able to hit 'em. Yeah it did block the sidewalk but better the sidewalk than the lot.

Now for the second guy in the BMW, the move he made was a threatening one, much like brandishing a pistol. I would've called the cops right there for the shit he pulled.

The guy on the camera was one of those loud pricks who are out to make a scene. I don't like these peeps either but it's worse being a bicyclist.

Yeah! Fuck people who would want to use the sidewalk because you're annoyed and cars are the best. And fuck bicyclists too.

The guys with the bikes parked like asshats. Same way with those that do this with other things hanging off the back of a vehicle blocking walkways.

The second guy was really upset the video taper ruined his threesome.

Rage ensued.

That guy is a freaking idiot. Good luck to him being that his license plate as well as him driving was plainly recorded.

It's amazing others here see this as the person filming is the problem. His tone could have been more polite, but honestly it didn't have to be since it was such an ignorant move to park that way to begin with and clearly probably has happened many times without concern.
This, plus the guy with the camera was acting like an asshole.

edit: Am I the only one who thinks that from the perspective of the camera, had he thrown himself onto the hood of the 2nd car, it would have looked like the 2nd car hit him?

Yeah. As it was he was standing in the middle of a parking lot in the dark for no good reason.

instead of starting the conversation by being a dick, he could have just asked the guys in the small car to move forward 2 feet so as to not encroach on the sidewalk.

the way he opened the conversation demands a confrontational response.

Given that the guys in the car were just leaving and the fact that he'd just used the sidewalk behind the car draws me to the conclusion that he was just being a drama queen.
