I just replaced my Antec 400 with an Enermax 430. (Trying to troubleshoot a strange problem but the PS wasn't it.) What a sweet powersupply!

PC Power & Cooling are incredibly well built and pricey.

Enermax are very well built, nice fannage, and the price is easier on the wallet.

Enermax and Sparkle are probably the best there is. I really dont see the justification in spending that much on PC Power&Cooling.

i've just ordered a generic 400w. one (perhaps it is not generic but the reseller did not know the manufacturer himself, so i just imagine it is not going to be anything extraordinary it costed me only 50$, what are the main differences between a good psu and a bad one, have i commited a serious mistake ( i do think this is an appendix to this thread as IMO the answer to my questions can be useful for most of the others)

i have a couple enermax's .. they work.. which is what i expect from a power supply.. seriously though, ya they have worked well, but the dual fan's, eh its a nice idea, but the "whisper fan" is a wuss, it might as well not even be there .. hm maybe i'll mod a real fan into it, anyone done it? ..

Mainly quality of the current supplied on the +5VDC rail as well as the combined current supplied by +5-VDC and +3.3-VDC power rails..as stated by AMD

Wow, thanks for the help everyone! I had a feeling the enermax was the best, but it's the most expensive of the 3.. The antec I can get for $45, the HEC for $51 and the Enermax for $63....
