BTW, I know there are more DC projects out there, but I can only remember a couple. Post others in this Thread and I will add them to to the Poll.

Probably convert my driveless crackracks to OGR and my main computers to ECCp-109 (gotta add that to the poll! )

at the current rate ECCp-109 will end long before the check space of RC5 is exhausted.... and a couple more additions ; folding@home and prime95

Oops! Sorry, I glanced right past the RC5 part and voted for SETI.

Having done SETI for quite a while, taken a break to do RC5, and then gone back to SETI again, I can at least vouch for my having taken that route.

Still, for what it's worth, if I had a large fleet currently doing RC5 and I wanted to switch it another project, I'd probably go the OGR route, mainly because the client is similar or even the same, thus there wouldn't be any learning curve of how to configure for another project.

BTW, with RC5, at least you know absolutely that there is 1 correct key; in SETI, we only know statistically that there are most likely aliens out there with signals for us to find! :Q SETI@home is definitely a better candidate for the "endless project."

A few of us die hard RC5's will be turning machines loose on SETI to help pay the SETI Cavelry back. They helped us hold off the DPC for a while longer so we owe them. I've got 7,168 MHz of Intel and 2,799 MHz of AMD to turn loose once RC5 is over. I'm going to need help setting up SETI-Q so I can keep all these machines fed. I won't be able to use the 7 machines at work after RC5 is over. It's too much of a hassle to set up any other client as easily as the dnet client and hide it from prying eyes. (Prior IT approval was obtained for RC5 only)

OGR, or some new project d.net comes up with. Their client is simply far superior to anything else out there.

I'm with Postman - distributed.net all the way, largely due to their flexibility of configuration. I've got around 60 gigahertz of processors, with more coming soon after Christmas, and the distributed.net client and control software just work so well with the situation where they're running that it's the undeniable king.

OGR is a great choice to moove to after RC5, especially for those that need to use personal proxies to connect to the 'net. The dialup detection ability also speaks for itself!

Those running diskless nodes may want to consider installing a small hard drive and NT4 for greater efficiency over Linux and power loss protection by using check points in the Dnet client.

ECCp is great for sneakernetting. no downloading of work, and points don't expire.

You forgot to add Genome@Home. Anandtech does have a Genome@Home team.

You could also add GIMPS, Ubero, Entropia. Anandtech may not be involved in them, but someone may be interested in working on them.
