I automatically put mine on when I get in the car, its a habit, I feel naked without it. I can't imagine people not doing that, so honestly I don't check when others get in my car. if they chose not to, its their life.

I wouldn't make anyone buckle up though, because a.) it's their life and b.) should we get pulled over an issued a ticket, they are paying not me.

Exactly... to me, not buckling up in the front seat, especially if I'm driving feels so odd... about as odd as it would feel driving away with the door still open.

*EDIT* About the ticket thing though... sure you can get them to pay you for it... but you can't give them any points that get put on your lisence

Teh Winnar. Me too.

I have always worn seatbelts. In 1995, I had a wreck; guy ran stop sign, I broadsided him. I would be dead if not for my seatbelt. *kisses seatbelt*

Seatbelts are a must for everybody who wants to drive with me. Wearing a seatbelt saved my dad's life once (no I wasn't driving).

Everyone does. If not for safety, then because Louisiana has a law that allows police to pull you over for not having it on. They don't need another offense.

Duh. Well, it is late and English is not my first language. Thank you for correcting the error though; only way to learn.

I feel uncomfortable without a seatbelt on, and I require all my passengers to wear theirs as well.

I never bother to check if my passengers are wearing them or not, because everyone always does.

Yup. I always wear mine, and I'd say I can't remember a time when a passenger didn't. I'm sure they've unbuckled to move around or grab something, but it always goes back on. Even when I'm at work and moving my car from the admin building down to the theme park(about 1 mile) I always wear my belt. I can't think of a time I haven't worn my belt for an extended period of time. Sure, I've unbuckled to grab something or do something, but it always goes back on.

BTW, I am against laws that require you to wear a seatbelt, but I'm for a law that limits liability when the other driver wasn't wearing theirs. Of course I'm not talking about if you were extremely negligent, but I don't think someone's family should be able to sue you if you made a mistake and they ate it through the windshield(2 car accident, not someone in your car).

when I was about 10, riding in the passenger front seat with no seatbelt on, my mom rear ended someone and i flew into the windshield head first and basically the whole passenger half of the windshield became a huge spiderweb of thousands of cracks perfectly centered on where my freaking face planted

then when i was about 17i got a $100 ticket for not wearing a seat belt (that stop i also got tickets for expired insurance card, expired registration, expired inspection sticker and speeding)

still, i rarely buckle up. just not in that habit. and i drive a supercharged 8 cylinder vehicle.

really need to get back in the habit. hope this thread reminds me but if I havent learned from planting my face into the windshield at 25 mph and a $100 hickey at 17 when $100 is a ton of money to lose, maybe i never will

I don't really pay attention if my passengers wear their seatbelts, but I always do. I think all my friends wear them though, so I don't really give it much thought.
