I would like to think I've only ever modded things to make them better performing, more functional, more like what the original creator would have done given the time or money to start with. I don't care for these mods, but that's just my opinion, which sucks, and is often snobby anyhow.
You're right though. Given a chance to play around with them I'd probably think they were pretty cool. Or at least respect the work done at a minimum. So, yeah, nevermind.
