I think i had a lemon. ALMOST EVERYTHING (except the engine) broke over that 2 year span. Traded it in this summer and got a 2001.5 VW Passat 1.8t in black. Had the misfortune of having an F150 land ontop of my trunk and literally remove the back 1/4 of my car and place it about 15 feet down the road. The car was only 3 weeks old at the time. Consequently, my dad deicded to take that car when it came out of the shop and he bought me a new 2002 VW Passat 1.8t in Silver.

First car was a '91 Explorer about $10k at the time. I was 15 when I got it. My brother wasn't careful enough and had an accident totalling my Explorer (He was 15, I was 16 at that time). Good thing he was ok though, and the person in the passanger seat since that side was majorly caved in. Everyone was ok, insurance covered it, no one was blamed, no insurance increase, and I got another Explorer after my parents got a truck. Oh, I am 18 now.

1989 Merkur XR4Ti

it ran fine for 4 months then the Radiator hose broke, and then the themostat, then the distributor, then the powersteering.. then the coolent hoses again.. After I fixed all of that i finally said screw it and sold that car for $4000

it was a fun car while it last, great handling, RWD, turbocharged.

My current car, which I guess is my real first car because I actually bought this car with my own money, is a 1991 Nissian Sentra SE-R, it's running fine and I absolutely LOVE it.

I was 16 when i got it

I sold it when i was 17.5

I'm 19 now.

Since then I went throught a 1991 BMW 318i, which got totalled by a jacka$s in a pizza delivery car, and then next car is a 1996 Jetta, had that for a year, it was a great car but my bro just crashed it today and looks like it's gonna be totalled. But I bought my SE-R back in September, it's been 4 months since I have it! Let's hope this is the last car I'll have to get in a while.

1982 Buick Skylark

Bought it for $500

Lasted one year, put over $1500 in repairs to it. Blew the tranny, took it to the dump and left it.

Bought it when I was 16, ditched it when I was 17.

1993 Chevy S-10 bought it for $4400 in October of 98 (on my 18th birthday

Im now 21, Getting rid of my car falls under several of the catigories, it started having several major electircal problems most of the lights in the dash shorted out, 2 speakers blew and the ac and fan system up and quit, then i got nailed from behind at a yield sign,
it was about 2000 bucks worth of damage, but the truck was still quite driveable though, after driving it around for about 2 months it started making funny noises, took it in and found out that the exaust manifold was seperating from the engine beacuse the bolts had sheared off in the wreck, about 5-700 bucks worth of work, insurance refused to pay for it, so i took it to the saturn dealership in august of 1999, got 1200 in trade in and bought myself my current car a 96 Saturn SL1

I had my 86 Corolla when I was 19 (27 now). It was a great car with very little maintenance.
I tried to keep it until last year I gave it to my friend bcuz his car broke down. It had 264 K mi and still running great (AC was still working)
But then he sold it for $400 (he gave me $200)

I miss it bcuz it had gone with me thru college.

First car I owned was a 1995 300zx 2+2. Got it when I was 17 (in 1998) and still paying for it.......I'm 21 now. The value at that time was around 20-21k, but I got it a lot cheaper since the previous owner was my rich uncle who gave me a nice little discount.

The year model and declared value of the vehicle at the time of purchase: 1990 Ford Tempo, depending on the gas tank level, $50-$60

Your age then: 17

Your age now: 19

I got the car after my sister had wrecked it 3 times, and could no longer drive it, since it required a foot on the gas at all times, including while stopped or cruising on the highway. The rear bumper hung down on both sides, but significantly more (about 2 inches) on the right side than the left. Every mirror had been ripped off at one time or another, courtsey of my sister and her drunken friends. Basically, it was a POS, and I drove it till the crack in the engine block was too big... the radiator leaked like hell (as in I dumped 2 2-liter bottles of water into it right before going to school, and two more right before heading home), and since the engine also leaked oil, the chance was too great of having the engine overheat and then catch fire

The nice thing about owning it during high school was that when people threatened to key it, I would just ask that they key all of it, so that all the rust would be scraped off, not just parts. Sold it to the junkyard for @$50

My first car was a 1984 Plymouth Reliant.

I ended up flying off the road trying to dodge some old couple that almost cut me off.

Granted I was going way too fast, but I was also 16.
