Poll: What do you think are the best Detonators?

i got a geforce3 ti 200 and i just did a fresh install of winxp, i was just wondering what you guys think is the best version of NVIDIA Detonator drivers? I know that the newest is usually supposed to be the best but i cant say i like the new 41.09s too much...

o yea my favorite detonators are probally the 40.72s...

When I do builds w/ GF3's, I use the 30.82's. The 40.xx's seem to be optomized for the GF4's.

For my purposes, the 30.82s are the best driver set. I get great performance in games and the best 2D quality when doing normal windows stuff. The added benefit of staying with 3x.xx drivers is that you can use Coolbits rather than muck around with craptacular "tweak" programs.

My favourite two are probably 30.82 and 40.72.Btw I`m using 40.72 drivers with my trusty old GF2 Ti .

i dunno, i didn't do it manually. i downloaded this coolbits reg thing a while back that does it for me cause i'm too lazy to re-type all that stuff in the registry.

worked for me.

edit: i opened it up in notepad. all it is was this (without the pluses)

Hrm...I'm using the lastest Detonators on my Geforce 2....should I ditch it for older drivers then?

I did too. I was nervous the first time but now it's old hat. What did you tweak your BIOS to do?

Benchmark performance and specifically 3DMark2001 SE. I lost performance on the Comanche4 benchmark actually.

They do...but I noticed that I couldn't tell the difference between purple, navy and black.
Went to the 30.82s and it's definitely better looking, though Diablo II really seems to hate them (~40FPS vs. ~90FPS w/ 40x.xx), but oh well, it is the one thing that doesn't need speed.
On speed, a 20%/24% overclock got most of it.

30.82's were the most stable....I got better 3dmark scores with 41.09 but the 2d quality looked worse and I had all sorts of video anamolies....Yes it was a fresh reformat...went back to 30.82's and perfect 2d and no anamolies....

320x714 ~ nothing massive
i used nvedit which has options for sidebanding and fastwrites ~ and flashed with nvflash.



dont be fooled by 3dmark2k1 benchies....
try the 30.82s and benchmark with something besides 3dmark2k1 or UT2k3
