Poll: What Grade would you give EA on BF2?

C. The game is amazingly good if you can get it to run, but that second part is hit and miss. Some people who should be able to run the game just fine have terrible problems. EA Tech Support actually told my housemate that the 6600GT was not one of their supported chipsets

Once you get past the interface it's A+ all the way. It's BF to the core, some people adapt well to rock-paper-scissors game play while others don't. And of course you have moments when your team (or the enemy team) finds the perfect balance and dominates the map. The best games in my opinion are those that're within 10 tickets the entire game. Last night I was in a server and we won by 4 tickets... Wow what a game.

B: great game, but its a resource hog, and the ranked servers run like ass regardless of hardware.

1. Forced registration and hard to change names, bindings reset with each new account when i try to put my clan tags on
2. Controls are too hard to set, has a horrible key binding system, whenever i try to bind a key all i get is a message saying it is in use somewhere else and i have to go hunt it down and remove it before i can set it
3. takes too long to load
4. runs slow for the eye candy, half life 2 and doom 3 looked as good if not better and ran much better and smoother

other than those technical problems, fun game, dont like it as much as Desert Combat, but fun game

C - I dont play online... and I would like to use Bots and make the maps bigger for single player fun.

I love the gameplay but the damn loading/verification screen takes FOREVER. Even when the map doesn't change, it does this every 3 rounds!!WTF! :|

as for 6600gt "not be a supported chipset"?? It plays fine on mine.

I also give it a sold B maybe even a B+. The slow interface needs some work but the game play is awesome! The class system kind of reminds me of Team Fortress. Definitely a great game. I am running it on a 9600XT and its a little disappointing graphically/FPS, but my GeForce 6800 is on its way!

I was questioning the same thing. Single player BF2 sucks.

would u rather play with a noob like me online? as a teammate?lol....u gotta start somewhere right...now you play with me in halo and I can stay with u...throughly excited about what this game has to offer...some strategy along with luck and skills involved here...will spend quite a bit of time with singleplayer to get acclamated with everything...

omfg.. the game even with its flaws is by far the most intense experience for a war game yet...
get in a good squad with a good commander and a good opponant..
it felt like soemthing out of a movie yesterday with all the shouting and the realistic sounds and the firefights going on for an hour..
freaking crazy game...

the spawn at squadleader postion is the best invention ever.. if the medics can keep him up you can have really intense firefights with spawn right into the action..

but thats not the average server.. 7 outa 10 servers I joined last night had no squads... no commanders... and everyone stacking one team or the other...

I need a clan for this game for sure with a server of thier own..

B - It's an extremely fun and immersive game, and has nice implementations. I like abuki would only reserve an A for the most classic games, and that's a tough thing to achieve. Nevertheless, this game is still a huge resource hog and sometimes it just gets to the point where my abilities are hindered. That breaks the immersion right away. Also, the interface pretty much sucks, but after you get it all setup it's a fun game to play. B

most of you guys obviously have not played the other 2 games in this series...
the loading times were always there...
its only about 20-30 seconds... thats shorter than BF1942 was at first...

I give it a B so far. Great game for looks and play. I've only played the single player demo but that was after some trouble with drivers. I also agree that the loading screen is a$$ and takes way to long and having to optmize the shaders every time you make a graphics change sux.

2 gigs of ram cuts load times in half.

I give Dice an A+. I haven't had this much fun since I first discovered online gaming about 5 years ago... However, EA sucks balls. I'm sure they harrassed Dice until they were blue in the face, because that's what EA does, so they get an F.

as far as a game "sucking"....anytime you take the human element out of the scenerio it has a tendency to "suck"... some games more than others but neverless ur still playing bots and the human interaction (however good or bad) is what really makes the game worthwhile

game looks great, plays great on someones dedicated server that is populated..

however, we usually have lans with about 3 people, and fill the rest with bots (and we usually start a server on the internet too with bots when we arent local)....so, this game is pretty much worthless..i cant believe how happy i was that i was going to get this...and now to find this out.....im pissed

I give BF1942 an A++, but not for BF2. Partially because the original ambush element is gone, now that you have a god like commander who can see everything.

It's still very fun. B+

BTW, the BF series are the only games I play (aside from the occasional Rome TW)

None of the other games can have me feel that immersed as any of the BF series do.
