i usually look at people's post counts, however the joined thing is more important. i think i've been around long enough to know who to listen to, judging from my overall impression of their posts over the past couple of years.

I base the posts and poster on the following criteria:

-Proper use of grammar and cohesive sentence structure.
-Proper capitalization and punctuation.
-Clarity of the argument, if applicable.
-Past performance of the poster.
-Tone of the post.

Then I'd say join date and finally post count.

my threshold for taking someone seriously is 1949 posts. Sadly, Lifer got banned at 1948 and will forever be ignored...

I check the forums daily and have found most of my questions/concerns are answered in a number of areas, so why post needlessly.
