The most damage Bush will be able to do this country, on a long term basis, will be through his Supreme Court appointments.

Conservative appointments are acceptable, but like Bush, the doctrines followed by his appointments will be conservative in name only.

Thats a bad thing? I pay lots $$$$ into social security which goes to pay current beneficiaries. I wish I had some of that money so I could invest it rather than having the government force me to "invest" it. I'll say again, my contributions are not invested. GW had a lot on his plate, as did FDR. I still say Lincoln with what he had to face from the NE peaceniks movements in war time (sound familiar), and the threat of England and France siding with the Confederacy, ranks #1. The legislation he rammed thru a TRULY DIVIDED country is an incredible feat.

I don't see China replacing the US as a super power. A super power can reach all over the world. China does not have the military means to do that and doesn't look like it will in the next 4 years. It does not have the power to stretch out of Asia.

One of my biggest fears under this administration is that they won't remember to get Cheyney first when they have enough evidence to impeach Bush for all the lies he told the American public as justification for taking us into a deadly, unjustified war. :|
