I know many Russians consider Lenin to be a god. But you can't possibly think that communism is a religion. Just because you are studying it on a course about religion doesn't nullify the fact that it was created to be a government.

And I too would like to see a definition of Communism that says it's a religion...

btw some of those are people of the religion and some are the religion itself. IE Islam should be Muslim, Taoism should be Taoist, etc.

So was the royalty. In the days of the english monarchy, the queen/king was as close to god as it comes in the eyes of the catholic church. It went people-church-queen/king-god. That was the governemt also. The reason that it is considered a religion is because of it's basis on orthodox. It was a government built on religion. Just like the middle-ages catholocism.

BTW, I wasn't expecting to get any responses to communist, I just put it on because it is one of the major beliefs in the past 100 years.

Communism by its main implications and uses is not a religion.. I can believe that my computer is god, but that doesnt make geekism a religion. Also on the topic of Jedi Knight, no one ever recognised it as a religion, but no one has ever recognised anything else as a religion either.

Well, monarchy wouldn't be on there because christianity was not the founding point of it. It existed before christianity came about. Capitalism was not built on religion and people who look at Bush as a god... well let's not go there. Communism was built on orthodox.

I will give you that any form of Communism today is government. But if you were to study it, you would see that it states that only orthodox is allowed. Therefore it is a religion and a goverment.
