The best vodkas are not available in the United States. Locally available vodka in Poland and Russia is light years better than any of that crap (best I had was Polish, but I cannot remember the name). Stoli is about $3 a bottle over there.

Grey Gooses is currently the number one rated vodka in the world.....AND not listed on the poll. Stoli is rated number 2. I would agree with both of those ratings, having tried most of the major vodka brands.

I used to love Stoli Vanil, but they stopped making it! :|

I like Stoli and Finlandia. Absolut is overrated and overpriced, IMO.
Skyy is not bad for the price.

Please describe the bottle to me so I am sure it is the same one. Polish with a type of Knight on the bottle, I think.

Cant find it in the US and so far have looked in about 10 states. They had it IN A SUPERMARKET in Kansas City several years ago, couldnt sell it and put it on clearance for $2.00 a fifth. Had 9 left and of course i bought them all. Found Famous Grouse Scotch on clearance there once also and cleared them out on that too at about $6 .

Skyy that's been sittin in the freezer for a few hours. Goes down nice n' smooth. I don't care for Smirnoff too much, Absolut is alright, and I've only had Stoli in mixed drinks.

Anyone ever have Osco Brand Vodka? I just got out of college, so don't drink the stuff anymore, but back then it was the cheapest stuff there was. It came in the usual Osco brand colors, and in some cheap plastic bottle. That stuff would put hair on your chest!

It is a polish vodka made from distilling Potatos


It is widely regarded as being one of the best, but market share in the US still go to the heavily hyped absolut/stoli/fris brands. Vodka makers, more than other liquor manufacturers, go for the flash bottle look to attract drinkers, largely because vodka drinkers tend not to drink it straight, but with something else. Therefore flavor is not a big draw point, as it is with scotch and whiskey.

When I drink, I drink scotch. Vodka is generally an alcoholics drink. There is truth in that statement, take from a bartender of five years.

Uh, oh, I drink both.

Prefer scotch but buy vodka for my girl. Thanks for the comments on the WY. I asked about scotch, brands liked, ect in another thread but got few answers. Guess it is a more mature persons drink.
