I've heard Dodges suck, especially with the trannies. But I really hate Hondas/Nissans/Toyotas/etc. Give me a ford or GM over any asian import. (german cars are good)

See, my experience is just the opposite. My family has owned 5 Fords and only one of them wasn't plagued with annoying critical issues or unfixable nuisance issues. Friends the own Fords seem to have the same issues, particularly with mid-90s Explorers. Most of these cars had less than 100k miles, too.

GM, OTOH, my family has seen Buicks, Chevys and Oldsmobiles over the years, some with over 200k miles, none with under 100k, yet none of them had any issues. It is not surprising that when my parents bought a new car this year, after finding Honda too expensive and too scared to buy Kia (praise the lord!), they once again bought a Chevy.

They are far from my favorite cars but Honda/Acura makes some damn good cars. Rice crap aside, just the Civic is a very well engineered car for the price. I realize that there are many anti-ricers here, but IMO Hondas are some of the best quality/price cars out there.

<-- Not a Honda owner.

toyotas are the sh-t, and it seems you forgot to add Hundai and Kia and Geo, all of which are so bad i think they go more under the go-kart category. and who voted for ferrari? thats just not even funny. i bet it was one of you FORD lovers. *growl* if youre gonna have ferrari, why not lamborghini? although neither one sucks.

IMO, Nissan may be reliable. But I don't need reliable crap.

My sister's Honda has been in the shop as much as her Jeep Wrangler was, and much less than her VWs were. But then again, VW Bugs are the Yugos of the '60s. Of course, I'm excluding damage from off roading. That stuff just happens. (banged a driveshaft on a rock while learning near the entry of the Rubicon)

I'll have to go for Korean. But then I say German makes are crap only because it might cost you an arm and a leg to repair.

Anyone who said anything negative about Ferrari or Porsche is just someone who loathes that which they cannot afford and has no respect for classic, high end autos...both are amazing companies and vehicles.

With that said, I am also shocked and amazed that Kia, Daewoo and hyundai were not included in the poll as they would have been the clear winners (or losers)...I voted Honda because I feel their styling stinks and personally would never consider them for a purchase.

I have owned 3 audi's plus my freinds have had them too, they were all junk, nothing but problems, and anything that had voltage going thru it is a problem with these cars, fix fix fix. a freind of mine had a nice 1999 porcshe, he rarely could drive it, it broke down almost everytime he took it out of the garage.

how many cars have you owned? I have owned about 300 cars. no BS, I sell them.</FONT>

I've owned plenty of cars, without being a second hand car dealer, and one who only buys crap Porsches to sell on to his foolish customers at that.

Again, you know nothing about Porsche.

Would you like to see if you can piss further than me too?

Porsches are great cars till ya drive them every day, the turbos really last long, fix fix fix fix.
yes my freinds turbos lasted about 2000 miles a crack. when he tried to sell it nobody would buy it , it only had about 20,000 miles, he finally trade it in at new car dealer on a new truck. they didn't give him much for it, and they didn't want it, the dealers ship never put it on the lot. they shipped to texas from Minn. they even told him they didn't want sell it to a customer, so they shipped it to a dealer down there.

this car was like new, nothing wrong with it at trade in time.

not many porches here and it's not that they cost too much, plenty of other 50 too 100 grand cars on the street here
