Poll: Which do you like better: Unreal Tournament or Quake III Arena?

Unreal Tournament:
In my opinion it is a much more FINISHED game. The game play is much better in UT. All the bonus packs and mods are awesome for UT.

I personally play more single player, because of my 56k; therefore I may be biased toward UT.

Unreal Tournament is so much better in my opinion.

The only problem is the engine is a bit-outdated and not as fast but it runs good on my system and I find it looks better than Q3A. It seems all Q3A's levels look the same and are the same boring crap. I bought Quake 3, tried it, and deleted it waiting for some CS-style mods. I tried a couple recently but still it just wasn't fun. UT is just so much more fun and the game modes like Assualt, Domination, etc.. are mad cool.

Shame one can't have UT levels/chars ported over and improved on the q3 engine. That would be sweet Curved surfaces and that great quake engine feel Oh well guess u can't have everything.

tru dat Zucchini, i been dreaming of just that for a long time.. then again the physics would be different too, which happens to be one of the reasons for me to prefer UT over q3.

Umm yea UT loads better and it's more stable while Q3A has better Grphics but Gameplay is pritty good I play Both I can't choose but for now since it's like 1:13AM and I can't think *I'm sleepy* Lets say Q3A

Brotherman: Actually, physics is the exact reason that I enjoy Quake3 more than UT. I guess I was too used to the "feel" of Quake style games when UT came out, because it just didn't feel right. I'm always hopping around like an idiot trying to strafe-jump in UT games

I've always enjoyed FFA deathmatch more than any other style of multiplayer, though (except for maybe the old Quake1 team fortress), so Q3 is more fun for me. I do like UT's single player mode better, though.

Have to agree, I prefer Quake 3 because of that "feel" it has as well, too used to it I guess =T UT is a cool game too though, especially Assault mode (too bad some people know how to fly through those things in 20 seconds flat) Both are great games in their own ways

hmm, maybe its just me but i once was a diehard q2 player... transition to UT was smooth and painless but q3 just felt sooooooo awkward... not that i cant play the game but UT seems to offer more control over your movement...

Brotherman: Actually, I was a big-time Quake2 fan before Quake3 came out, as well. And I guess in some ways Quake2's movement was more like UT than it was Q3 (Quake2 had that whole feet rooted to the ground thing going, where you could get hit in the face with a rocket and - assuming you survived - not even slow down). Maybe it was the strafe-jumping, then. It's second nature to me now, and it's frustrating as hell in UT to be jumping up and down all the time and not go anywhere

Well i just got UT today (had Q3 for a long while), and I have to say i'm a bit board of them both. Mod wise RA3 (Q3) kicks ass... it's just soo much fun. I've tried the UT RA.. but it didn't feel as nice.

If I were to play a Internet game of either one (not mod), I'd probubly play Q3 because it performs much better on my comp.

If I were to play a LAN game with my mates, I think it would be UT... because it's slightly more 'fun' if see what I mean (with all the little cute bit's its got, mutulators, head shots, 'MULTI KILL', etc..)

the s3tc textures for unreal do rock, but i'd still have to hand it to quake for the best lookin graphics. ok, look at the crappy health packs for Ut, then look at the floating health packs in q3, there's a major difference. there are many other things besides health packs, but dayamn, those quake 3 floating +'s do look nice.
